Sherbros will there be any arguments left that Khamzat Chimaev is one of the best talents to ever step inside the octagon if he finishes DDP in 1st rd

Burns was already at an age where he probably needed dick pills to hold an erection. Dricus is at his peak.

No way. Burns was in ridiculous shape and motivated like a motherfucker for that fight.

lol crazy ilia topuria managed to do what Khamzat all told us he would, bro entered the ufc a few months after Khamzat now he double champ

We already know Khamzat is a dog from his Burns fight where he got dropped in the second round and was exhausted and still pushed hard in the third round.
Indeed. He also managed to hit a takedown vs Burns just after getting hurt on the feet, which is a good sign for his ability to recover and also effectively "panic wrestle".

He's a good fighter but he fights too infrequently. Also he is 6'2 and has been cutting weight to welterweight and middleweight when he is a huge unit. He ought to at least be at LHW and that he was cutting to welterweight for some of his time in the UFC is crazy.

He is 31... if he continues to fight once a year then its all for nothing...a big what if

Bro...

Like Stipe vs Jones, right?

Burns was on the end of his 35, 26 fights, 8 years difference for a 27 year old Chimaev, come on.

Stipe looks like shit. A couple of clips a few seconds each compared to an unedited clip of Burns going for 15 minutes straight. Burns was among the best he's ever been in the Chimaev fight.

Burns also wasn't a full-time firefighter 3.5 years from his last fight (KO-loss), on the wrong side of 40.

He had only lost to Usman at WW before their fight, won the fight before Khamzat, then proceeded to win his next two fights.

The law of sherdog dictates thusly: if he wins he is GOAT, if he loses he was never that good/ a can
Don't forget people will say "he is 31, getting old and past his prime"

Nah. Wins over DDP, Old Marty in a weight class he’s not known for, old Whitaker, and Burns at WW isn’t a GOAT resume. Marty and Burns took it to him, as well. He absolutely ran over Bobby though. If ge runs over DDP, it’s a good start.

He’d need to clean out MW and let the title defenses speak for themselves.

If he does take out DDP decisively, I will finally be on his bandwagon.

He is talented.
He is a step above mid level UFC fighters but he still went hell for leather with Burns and Usman.

Yes. I'm sure he has improved since both.

Rob was a great win but none of his wins so far have afforded that obscene scrotum sweat sucking status he maintains on Sherdog.

His opposition level, with exception of Rob are not proof of status.

If he beats DDP, he has a very long way thereafter for any kind of GOAT talk but he sure will close questions of brilliance. Especially from me.

If you still think Chimaev isn't the real deal at this point, no matter if he wins or loses against DDP, you're an idiot and you should watch figure skating instead 🤷🏻‍♂️

If Khamzat Chimaev goes in there and takes out DDP in the 1st round will there be any arguments left that this is indeed one of the best talents if not the best ever talent to step inside octagon. What makes Khamzat special is how he sees the fight game and how he approaches it and he often makes elite competition look easy that is just the level he is at.

Imagine what kind of monster you have to be to just take DDP out like that. Plus few more title defenses Khamzat Chimaev´s GOATship will be undeniable and most of it will come on the back of how quickly and how he dispatches his opponents.

Nobody does MMA like this, he is an artist
The Usman and Burns fights weren’t that impressive and I still go back and forth on if he even won those fights. Part of me says it’s due to him fighting such high competition early in his career, but he has pulled out of three fights and missed weight for one. His biggest wins outside of Whittaker were against smaller opponents. That might have worked against him with Burns but he still failed to do anything but ride Usmans back the first round causing no damage and getting spoiled on his head. He is no doubt a spectacle to watch but I’d rather DPP retain because who knows how long it would be before Khazmat defends if he ever does. Might just get sick and retire.

Khamzat is a beast but to even start an all time great convo when he's not even won a title, much less defended one, is fucking insane.

Esp at a weight class like MW where there was this guy that only had what, 10 defenses over a 7 year reign? But beating DDP = Khamzat is a GOAT...

I ain't even trying to disrespect Khamzat, it's just a damn silly suggestion. Threads like this getting dropped every other day for different fighters because they had an impressive win or two are the reason GOAT is the most worthless term in MMA fandom.
