Sherbros will there be any arguments left that Khamzat Chimaev is one of the best talents to ever step inside the octagon if he finishes DDP in 1st rd

I already consider him one of the best raw talents ever. What he needs is professionalism. He is crashing sports cars in Dubai but never fights smh. And get some hygeine. MF is always getting sick.

You new breed folks that think one title win puts you in best ever categories are funny, IMO.
Hey now to be fair - if you've only been a fan for the last few years all you know about championship level MMA is inactivity, division hoppers, undeserving shots, pseudo retirements, manufactured storylines, fake belts, and preferential treatment.

You aren't wrong on most of that. Still just way too ready to crown the next GOAT for things that just objectively aren't worthy when looked at historically.

We know Khamzat is dangerous in round 1. He'll answer more questions if it hits round 4 and he still looks convincing.

Khamzat haters are weird wtf are you even trying to say with this nonsense
The only thing i hate him for is his involvement in that crypto scam. You can't pretend he's had a typical rise to the top, one that lets us assess his capabilities.

Those who don't understand that his grappling TALENT is generational simply don't understand the sport at all. Key word: talent.

Being a GOAT candidate and having a legendary career requires more than talent. He needs to consistently fight first and foremost. CAN he achieve real greatness? Sure. Will he? Yet to be seen and quick win over DDP is one step of many more to getting there.

But from a sheer talent standpoint it's just stupid to say he isn't special.

He was in a complete war with burns.
If that answered any questions, it only did so for a very brief period of time. Has he fixed the holes we saw in the Burns fight? Who knows!

Well put

DDP is a gorilla. Khamzat going to have a difficult time me thinks.

Khamzar is literally the only one on the roster that hasn’t done anything to prove he’s great and yet still being crowned as some kind of GOAT.

His ability to make very good fighters look like regional level cans is pretty special.

He basically handled Whittaker with the same ease as he did Rhys McKee.

He has basically only faced resistance in just 2 out of his 8 UFC-fights, and even in those two he was very close to finishing in round 1.

I think he's up there with Aspinall, Islam, and Ilia in talent-level, because his grappling poses such an extreme finishing threat.
Yup just like when steamrolled Usman and Burns.

Y'all some wierdos

No, there are literally others

If he finishes DDP in the 1st round it was because DDP finally got exposed and/or DDP never really fought anyone good. So we still wouldn't know if Khamzat is any good and it's still very likely he's a can.
100%

If its a quick KO this would be the case.

However, If its grappling domination then it adds major credence to Khamzat ability

Perhaps you should read my reply again, Usman and Burns are obviously 2 out of the 8 fights where he got some resistance.

Still, 10-8 and very close to subbing Usman in round 1, before his hand ligament injury.

Whittaker, Holland, Jingliang, GM3, etc didn't even punch him once.

what do people get out of making these absolutely dumb as fuck threads?

Will we have the same energy when he doesn't defend the belt for a year, as we did with Jones I wonder

Get your belt, and then defend it several times, convincingly. Then you can start to even broach such a question. C'mon now. Why is everyone so eager for the next big thing to be the "literally greatest ever"? Is this a result of a diminished attention-span?

He’s already a legendary fighter by being the only fighter to ever miss weight by 7.5lbs and not be penalized
