But non combative vets are also at risk of developing it because, surprise surprise, combat isn't the only source of intense stress in the military.

Every deployment is potentially violent. You can deploy to a combat zone and experience no violence.

I'm only focusing on those that have experienced *violent combat, hence the elevated stress causing PTSD
