As we've seen from their most recent performances, who would win between Ian Garry and Colby Covington? Keep in mind that Colby has taken much more damage, is obviously much smaller, and Ian Garry could not be taken down at all in any of his fights.

Colby's largely fought guys who are retired and coming off serious losing streaks.

I would probably call this a pick-em.

Colby was arguably winning the first fight against Usman and had another very close rematch with him. I would argue that fighting a peak Usman and being that close to winning counts for something.

I wasn't impressed by Ian Garry's performance. He isn't ready for someone like Colby.

Colby's claim to fame is LOSING to Usman twice. Once getting TKO'd and a broken jaw, but getting dropped and badly hurt in both fights.

He's never fought any of his actual peers in the division, rarely fights, and has been going to decision wins over retired fighters. I have a hard time seeing him beat guys like Belal, Khamzat, Leon, Burns etc. Garry looks pretty legit, I'd probably call that fight a pick-em. There are no accidental 6 fight win streaks in the UFC welterweight division.

Garry dominates Covington and makes it look easy.

*Losing

Yes he lost to Usman. But it doesn't matter. Usman was being compared to GSP when he fought him ffs. The same Usman that would beat anyone in the division.

Arguably beating a prime Usman before getting dropped in the very last round is better than going to decision against a 36 year old washed up and one legged Magny who's never came close to sniffing a belt.

Magny on one leg gave Garry some trouble in the clinch.

If Colby hasn’t lost a step yet, he should suffocate Gary.

Of course losing to Usman twice matters, and he got a broken jaw KO loss the first time, and dropped and hurt badly AGAIN in the second fight.

It is absolutely moronic or just straight up lying to say Colby 'arguably beat' Usman. That is fantasy.

There was a time when people would say Jon Fitch beats everyone not named GSP.

Then Jon had to actually fight his peers, guys like Hendricks and Maia and he got smashed repeatedly. If Colby had to actually fight his peers the same thing would happen.

Guys who look like Colby and Garry have the privilege of being less than great yet still make big money
