I am very satisfied with Colby vs Buckley & Garry vs Shavkat

I was thinking about this just now, If colby said ian wasn't big enough of a name why the hell is he fighting buckley?

Kinda does make it look like he ducked him, however this fight was made on short notice so colby was given great incentive ($) to take this fight
Because he knows Garry would destroy him.

when is this fight tho? does Colby have time for a full fight camp for a five rounder?
Not even sure, all i've seen him in the last year is him going from golf course to golf course with Trump's crew.

However his cardio might be his greatest asset never seen him get truly tired. Just gun-shy after his Usman losses.

Im OK about the matchups, i just think Rakhmonov management are idiots, their guy signed for a Main Event Title Fight...this is neither of those things, i wouldnt fight.

Watch how triggered this place gets after Colby wrestlefucks him for 15 minutes.

Gonna be gold... watch.
<lmao>

Colby isn't triggering; he's boring. On a good night he's extremely boring and an adequate gatekeeper. Good for him and too bad for everyone watching if he has a good night.

Buckley has been getting by on athletic ability alone. If he can't catch Colby with something or out work him I don't see Colby losing as much as I hate to say it. Buckley isn't really good at anything.
part from taekwondo lol

I still think Garry vs Covington was very obviously the fight to make, and Colby Cheese ducked him like his life depended on it. Now that fight will likely never happen.

He actually stands a chance against Buckley, but it's a whatever fight. I'll allow it, but Garry vs Covington is a much more appropriate fight that either Garry vs Rakhmonov or Buckley vs Covington.
I disagree it's more appropriate, Colby should not be that close to a title fight. Garry is too high up. Should coldby win he'd then deserve the loser of Garry Vs shavkat or lose it Usman/JDM or even a rematch with Leon.

I think he should be fighting in the lower top 10 then the top 5. Not the top 5 right away.

To be fair, Buckley should always come into the promotion as a welterweight, but he was too busy ducking The James Krause.
I didn't know that's who he was avoiding, interesting. I would favor Buckley over him, prime for prime.

I don’t think you know what “fraud checked” means. Brandon Thatch losing to Benson Henderson is when “fraud checked” is correctly used. A former interim title holder/title challenger can’t get fraud checked.
I intended to mean how Colby doesn't have a real win over anyone not retired or soon to be retired, he's lost 3 championship fights in a row. I get I'm stretching the meaning, but Colby has held the #2 ranking at WW without being tested by anyone in their prime. I get he had competitive losses to Usman that should mean something. He's no Thatch level fraud, but perhaps rank #2 fraud.

Agreed with everything except

Is Colby really in a "one rebound fight, then ready for a title eliminator" territory? Man, that would kinda suck. Colby should be at LEAST one step behind Usman, who should be one step behind Leon. 4 of his last 7 fights were for a title. I feel like back in the day, we'd be shitting on such Faber/Holm-like privileges.

JDM is rumored to face off against Usman, and I'm not thrilled about that either, but the winner of that should be gunning for a title, and you've got Brady as well, who should be higher than Buck or Colby at this point, and by the time JDM-Usman winner gets a title shot, we're probably talking about Leon returning too, and you got the losers of Belal-Shavkat AND the next title fight. ALL of those should be in front of Colby, even with a Buckley win

I understand what you mean but there is a bit of a traffic jam right now at 170. Let's purpose that JDM fights Usman and Brady fights Leon.

Who ever looks better or performs better or is available sooner will get the shot. Way I see it Colby and Usman are on about equal footing right now. I also don't like Usman Vs JDM I hope it goes Brady Vs JDM or Leon Vs JDM.

If I had it my way,

JDM Vs belal
Shavkat Vs Garry
Colby Vs burns
Leon Vs brady
Usman Vs Neal

Keeps JDM Garry and shavkat in the title picture pushes Colby Leon and Usman a fight out

Except knocking people out

Shavkat should've just waited for Belal. Belal said it was only a 6 week recovery.

Belal vs. Shavkat
Colby vs. Garry
JDM vs. Usman
Leon vs. Brady
Neal vs. Buckley

He's only good at KO'ing guys who are over the hill or he has a significant physical advantage over.
Bro, you don't got to like the guy lol. I appreciate him for what he is, you seem to hold it against him. Does this hinder you enjoying fights bro?

Lol I already said I don't hold it against him. I'm just stating facts here. The guy is fun to watch, I'd watch him over Ian Garry any day of the week (I actually hoped he'd get the Shavkat fight over him), but the reality is he can't go band for band when it comes to skill with the very top of the division.

Colby is now fighting an up and comer 30 years old, That's 6 years younger than colby.

Not quite a win in the Garry, Shavkat, Usman, Leon tier of win, but right below that, which wont get colby a title shot. but it puts him that 1 more fight away which is fair. Keeps colby out of the immediate title picture, Gives a young up and comer a chance to break through, forces Colby to fight someone younger than him not aging out of the sport.

Also Garry vs Shavkat is a better fight for number 1 contendership and honest to god, This is how the match making should have been in the first place.

what's not to like?
Garry vs Rakhmonov is an awesome fight, I think either of them beat Belal so to me it's like a championship fight. Buckley has improved so much the last couple of years, he should really walk through Colby and I'm surprised Colby took this fight. I have to assume he was asking for higher ranked guys and no one would accept.
