Holm's Camp turned down Cyborg fight at 198

Why on earth would Holly take that fight on short notice like that when she's got Meisha or Ronda on tap?

Funny. People said it was Ronda and called her a coward. Didn't Holly say she would fight Cyborg at any weight if given the fight? Where are the Holly fans at now? lol
Right here, and again fuck fighting Cyborg in a country that is notorious for lackadaisical drug testing.

Holly wants the rematch with Tate which is a possibility at UFC 200, why would she risk doing anything else at this time? I hope the people saying she's ducking in this thread are just trying to be funny(unsuccessfully). Saying you're willing to fight someone doesn't mean you just disregard all other matters and ignore circumstances and consequences.

The Shertards are not going to listen.

This was a win-win for Holly, even if she lost. She would have the distinction of 'stepping up' to fight Cyborg, before Ronda, AND a huge paycheck to boot. To be frank, with Cyborg's reputation Holly would not have lost much ground with a loss. I'm a bit bemused at her thought process and decision on this
lol. You have to be the least logical person on the planet to think that.

The idea that a loss (back to back losses) would not set her back for a title shot is laughably dumb. Of course it would set her back and no Cyborg has not proven to be huge paycheck. She is known amongst the hardcore but not the casuals.

For the UFC it was win/win. If Ronda beats Tate again as everyone expects they will have a hard time keeping Holly away from her and giving Holly a second chance to beat her. So if Holly loses to Cyborg that will do it for them. And if Holly manages to beat Cyborg, oh well, there appears then to be little or no way to keep Holly away from Ronda but at least Holly has knocked Cyborg out of the talks and built her credibility even farther.

You seem to not understand the mind of the average shertard.

Being a true fighter means you care nothing for the business side of MMA and will fight anyone, anywhere at anytime without consideration of your career or financial well being. Being a true fighter means you just scrap.

We've seen shertards accuse guys of ducking when they were often fights on extreme short notice that would require a big weight cut and almost no camp time when those same fighters were in line for a title shot and therefore said no.

Shertards do not understand that fighters are doing this for a career and instead think of them like they do video game characters.

I'm guessing that the UFC is working on a Tate vs Holm rematch in an attempt to get Holm the title back, so that Ronda can get her revenge fight.

This is not the first time Holm has ducked a fight, she wanted no part of Tonya Evinger a few years ago. After seeing Holm's ground game recently you can now see why.

Damn, a little surprising. Cyborg has very good BJJ too I could see her subbing Holly if it became a grappling match.

same girl who recently said she wants to fight often and will fight anyone

It's a no win situation for Holly. She doesn't need to take the fight cuz it doesn't benefit her, the only person that benefits from anyone fighting Cyborg right now is Cyborg. If she can't make 135 then what's the upside? Oh you get to brag that you're the one that beat Cyborg? Bragging don't pay the bills.
Actually beating Cyborg in Brazil does pay the bills, a lot of them.

Didn't make sense anyway.
Hell doesn't make sense having Cyborg fight on her own weightclass at all now.
It only made sense when Ronda had her division cleaned out, but she ducked that fight (which was a smart move by her).

Even though Ronda was spewing nonsense about beating anybody and everybody, at least she didn't say she's fight at a catchweight until the opportunity to do so came along. Lots of different factors come into play, but I'll not defend miesha and holly here.

Holly can definitely beat Cyborg. Cyborg has never faced anyone with her level of striking in MMA.

lol

anytime anyone doesnt accept a fight its considered a duck

and all you people who said ronda sucked and holm and miesha were these amazing real brave fighters that would be true champions by facing cyborg, where are youse?

Holly and her team admitted it. You can't pin this one on Dana.
The fact that Dana offered it to her knowing her situation and I guarantee he would have said it doing his hype the fight/throw a fighter under the bus thing.
