Holloway would stand in the center and throwdown with Topuria too

I do think Max does better, but he will still need to do a bit more before getting the chance to prove it. Ilia could be a real dick with the BMF belt, but he very much doesn't need that shot at this time. Max gotta be in full chase mode here.

Lol stop coping. He turned it down cause Ilia was fresh and would have KO'ed him.

I do think Max at 155 is much better than the 145 version so I would love to see a rematch down the line. The problem is see is Ilia seems the type to retire early and I could see Ilia retiring after a few more fights

Fight would be worse at 155 for Max. Ilia has the same speed at 155 and seems like his power is ever bigger at 155, Max on the other hand is slower at 155 and his power doesn't make much difference. Ilia would find the mark earlier and put him out inside two rounds.

Standing in the center of the cage and banging at the start of a fight is retarded. You would literally be throwing away weeks of training camp and game planning. Ilia knew Max wouldn’t do it, but he got what he wanted and won that battle judging by the posts in here lol. Doing it at the end gives a someone a chance to stop it from going to the judges.

The Max hate is crazy, god damn Topuria fan girls.

There’s no hate in pointing out that Topuria is Holloway’s superior… embarrassed him in every way in the octagon.

Sherdog narratives like “Good guy Max” and “Arrogant Ilia” might be why people can’t take objective discussion on the forum.

Last night actually showed just how elite Illia is. Max has improved his game if you look at his strikes against Justin and Dustin- Illia is just too much. He sleeps these guys that will stand with him.

This, im sorry but Max only does it when he knows his opponent is done. Topuria invited him in the center when both were still fresh in a fair situation and Max pus*ied out. He also didnt do it when Poirier beat the living sh** out of him or when Volk beat the sh** out of him when they fought before. He does it to an already dead horse, not when there is any danger.

Topuria gave him the chance to man up and do it vs someone who wasnt gassed, beat up and mentally not there anymore and Max showed his true colours…
Lolwut? Yes he did do it in the previous Poirier fight too. And in what way was Poirier "out of it" in either of their LW fights, or Lamas, or Allen? You mean down on the cards? It's like the whole point when they've already had a hard actual fight and nobody got a finish, so Max is willing to risk a fight he's already won to get a finish by giving his opponent one last chance to get a KO too.

They already have guys who just start out doing that, it's called powerslap, and they don't need a training camp or even to be a pro fighter to do it.

Embarrassed him in every way”? Max looked great against Ilia prior to the KO. It was a good scrap.

Stop that, Max was doing his stale backpedal/oblique kick routine while Ilia was besting him in both striking and grappling while figuring out his timing. Top was playing chess, Max was point fighting playing checkers.

Max then got figured out and put to sleep. Ilia was faster, stronger, and more well rounded. It was apparent all fight.

Max has the skill and experience to outpoint Topuria for some rounds, but sooner or later he's going to sleep. Max doesn't have the stopping power to make Ilia pay for walking him down.

To be clear, Max still appears world class and is clearly one of the best in the world right now. Topuria is better though. Better all day.

Topuria is faster and hits harder. His chin is reliably solid and Max's is no longer. But Max landed on him plenty. It's not like he was a fool caught in the matrix.

Max did the matador thing to Ilia, which I thought was actually a clever response, in his last shot for a title at 145 and all these plebs do is endlessly criticize and hate on a fighter like Max. It just let's you know who you're dealing with. These same guys will jump off the Topuria wagon the second he loses a fight. Fucking clown world, lol.

You're responding to idiots, lol.

Max has nothing for Ilia. Let's not pretend he can do significantly better at 155 lbs. Yes, he was not as depleted at 155 lbs, but so was Ilia. Ilia was significantly stronger and better at 155 lbs than he was at 145 lbs because of how hard the weight cuts were. Ilia will KO Holloway again.
