I did not believe that they ever had the capacity to hit the Israeli’s. I know they took credit for it, but I never believed it. Always thought that was Iran pulling it off and letting them take credit for it. And I haven’t paid attention to them for the last year.

There's no plan or conspiracy. Israel wants Lebanese terrorists to stop shooting rockets into Northern Israel. Hizbollah has been coordinating attacks with Hamas since Oct 7th. Israel's plan is quite straight forward in pushing these terrorists back from the border so they can't shoot rockets and terrorize Israeli civilians any longer.

If you look at history, Israel has given up lands or did what needed to be done to achieve peace. It was done with Egypt and Jordan. Israel was also trying to achieve peaceful relations with Saudis before Oct 7th attack. The attack was nothing more than sabotage efforts by the Iranians and its proxies.

I think the problem is that back in the day, Israel was ruled by a mostly left wing coalition. Until 1977, all Israeli PMs were affiliated with the Labor movement. Nowadays you have mostly Bibi and his lackeys in power, supported by right wing settlers that want to take over Palestinian land.

That is the consequence / outcome of the never ending wars and attacks. The more fearful you make the citizens of Israel the more and more likely they are to elect a government with more totalitarian / populist tendencies. Safety has become essentially the number one issue for them. A huge amount of Israeli taxes go to protect themselves. Imagine what could be done with all that money if they didn't have to sleep with one eye open.
