.

It went on a little too long at the end but the commentary shat their pants way too soon.

Bad stoppage, but Bobby had it fookin coming with all that showboating and having his hands by his hips against a guy with twice his length, maybe ref thought he needed to learn the hard way

I love combat sport but there is one thing about it that truly annoys me.....some idiot fans out there that truly want to see a fighter busted up and seriously injured.
I'd half be okay with it if the fan himself would live by the standards he places on other fighters to "die by the sword" and fights with that in mind.
The sad thing is, the vast majority of these idiots would not have trained in any combat arena even at a low contact level. Most would cry like a baby at the first full shot they get in the nose.
I love martial arts and watch it for the skills and high level of combat. Sad fact is, there are a shitload of fans out there that see it to watch someone get laid out.
A fight should always be stopped if a fighter is not defending themselves. Green was out more than once in that final skirmish. I'd rather Green be healty and fight another day than for him to take extra shots for no reason at all.

Bobby has a big ole mouth

Not going to lie....It was an outrageously late stoppage but somewhat enjoyed it more than I should simply because it couldnt have happened to a more deserving individual karka caught up with BG last night. He talks a lot of shit and that shoulder brushing gesture is so gay

Hopefully he learned a thing messing with UFC Tommy Hearns....Also Next time maybe shake hands beforehand lol

Last night was one of the best cards Ive ever seen and it was fucking free. You just mever know.

It was a bit late but nowhere near as bad as DC and Ping made it seem. They were being over dramatic as fuck as usual.

My feeling also. It was a bit late, but the commentary was way over the top.

Ref tried to give Green a chance to recover, he was turtling and still covering so the ref felt he was still defending. Ultimately Turner’s g&p was just too good to allow any recovery and Green was KOed cold instead. I felt bad for Green watching it but it’s not the first or the last time it will happen.

Remember the fight earlier on the card between Bellato and Potiera? That fight could have been stopped and Bellato would have suffered a loss, instead he scored a FoTY candidate victory he will remember for ever, all because of a “late stoppage” type of ref, this shit works both ways.

Sherdog gonna Sherdog.

No. You have to read the situation. There's a difference between a fighter trying to get back up or recover. Green was sitting there accepting the punches until he lost consciousness. Sherdoggers are not very great at spotting the differences and recognizing context.

It's a safe bet most of those saying it was a good stoppage have never been in a real street fight

Go look up pro fighter reactions to this; most of them thought it was terrible

I liked the stoppage.

Btw interesting how it was similar to bobby getting finished by Islam only instead of “early” stoppage, now it’s “late” stoppage

damn having empathy for your fellow humans who happen to entertain us by putting their health/bodies on the line is "corporatization" now?
I'll just leave it at that dont even need to say more.

The dipshit who posted that is probably one of those typical failures who spends hours of his life on the internet declaring everyone to be snowflakes.

Ref must have had money on Green.
We've seen many KO'd fighters get woken back up by strikes after the initial KO.
Or maybe the ref just enjoys Caribbean music and thought Greens head was resonating a sweet island beat.

The Cards don't lie.
Callmeh noaw fuh ya free beating.

I mean, there's the video.

He wasn't KOd until the very end. He ate one that sent him limp. He ate another and the ref was in there just as Turner landed a final shot. Would have been nice if the ref had gotten in there before that final shot, but Turner was hitting fast.

He was still defending himself on the ground up until those final 3 shots or the ref would have jumped in. Turner wasn't landing every shot. When you're moving around like Green was and managing to get your block back for every 2nd or 3rd shot, they're not going stop it for a TKO.

Gave a like for reposting the vid, but that was def a late stoppage. At no point was Bobby defending himself after he got dropped. I normally side with refs since it’s hard to judge split second movements of the downed fighter, but he was front and center and just sitting there watching Bobby get brutalized. If this was a sherdog fav fighter I suspect many of those in the “it wasn’t a late stoppage” camp would do an about face, but since it’s Bobby, all good.

EDIT: but by no means is that anywhere near the worst stoppage in the UFC.

This is the kind of thread that allows you to identify which sherdoggers are humans with a functioning brain and who are the dumb "just bleed" that doesn't care about the fighters/sport.

I'll be honest: I wouldn't watch nearly as much combat sports as I do if fighters who I dislike don't get to be warriors from time to time. Yes I like the sportsmanship & technical aspects of fighting which is a big part of why I watch MMA and Muay Thai instead of BKFC and bum fights, but there still needs to be a healthy amount of blood & brutality to balance it all out.
