Making it in Boxing, the NBA, the NFL etc is a hell of a lot harder than is to become a champion in the UFC. For example, brock became the HW champ with only 3 wins lol. Why would the best athletes in the world join the UFC when they could be making loads more elsewhere. That 15k to show and 15k to win with 6k reebok sponsorship money isnt to enticing lol. Also, Give Deontay Wilder a year to learn some takedown/submission defense and he'd dust stipe.
Very true. And it's why the lighter weight classes typically have better athletes and deeper talent pools - not many places to go for an A level athlete who is 5'6" and 140lbs. Bigger guys who are good athletes will almost always choose traditional ball sports where there is more money and more longevity.
