Tom Aspinall believes he has already beaten Ciryl Gane after pre-fight comment made by the challenger
Has Gane unfortunately decided his own destiny?
This coming Saturday in the UFC 321 main event, Tom Aspinall makes the first defense of his undisputed heavyweight title when he takes on longtime contender, Ciryl Gane.
The Brit currently has the shortest average fight time in UFC history and it is unknown how he would perform past the second round.
And because of that, ahead of their scheduled five round fight, Gane has stated that he wants to take Aspinall into ‘deep waters’ by using his footwork and distance.
“Did he actually use the words ‘deep waters’?” Aspinall questioned at the UFC 321 media day.
“Everybody who has said the words ‘deep waters’ gets knocked out in the first minute, go back and check the media that you’ve done. So, I’m pretty happy with that, that’s good,” the champion continued.
Over the years, MMA fans have become used to seeing betting slips posted by world famous artist, Drake, and it has become somewhat of a curse to fighters that he bets on.
However, ahead of the clash in Abu Dhabi on Saturday, popular female rapper Cardi B has placed big money on the main event, wagering a whopping $250,000 on Aspinall to retain his title.
Hopefully for Aspinall’s sake, this isn’t the birth of a new betting curse in the UFC, as contending with Drake is already enough for most fighters.
