MMA:
1 hour and some change
Warm Up: bagwork, shadowboxing, running, etc
GnP Sparring:
`16 oz gloves, Iron Man format, 4 man, 2 min. rounds. Focus was stand up w/ takedowns, then GnP
Highlights: Good sprawl/ single leg defense today.
Good low kicks
Hand felt good, so I got off some decent dual hand combos
Good head movement/ slips
Lowlights:
Shitty shot.
Dropped my right hand as a punch came in to avoid it getting hit, and ate a hook to the face. Kind of comical that I'd rather take it on the face than the hand, but both feel fine.
Would have broke my foot on checked lowkick had it been full power
Rolling:
three 2 min. rounds, no rest. After two minutes, switch partners.
Highlights: Kimura sweep, regained gaurd pretty well, got and maintained side control and worked for kimura
Lowlights: Got gullotined. Spent most of one round on the bottom in half guard.
Impressions:
Pretty good night tonight. Came directly from work, so I was already warmed up. I ate lighter than usual as well, and it translated into a better performance. Perhaps my body wasn't fighting my digestive system as much. I'll play around w/ my pre workout meal a bit more and see what results I get.
