Feed Ian Garry to Morales

The only exciting part was the 5th round when Ian got tired of back peddling and started getting wrecked, the first 4 rounds were a point karate contest.
That's just not true. You are letting your dislike of Garry affect your perception of the fight. First round was ok, but the second and third were very impressive from Garry.

There is a reason Prates was gunshy, and it's because Garry was beating the shit out of him.

I suggest you rewatch the fight. The first three and a half rounds were not point fighting, they were a clinic.

Eventually Garry gassed himself out and Prates caught him, but Garry landed a lot of hard shots and fought a great fight. The fifth round is what you remember, but I suggest rewatching the second and third in particular.

I don't know, maybe you're more of an MMA purist that me, but I'm not gonna sit here and pretend I appreciate a guy throwing a few strikes that do no damage, then getting on his bike and backing away from the action.

I could see some beauty in it if he was at some point getting to a finish, but literally no intent to finish the fight, just one decision after another.

Well, yeah

Except they definitely did damage. There is a reason Prates was so tentative.

You mean footwork?

He was pretty close to a finish in the third. You just hate him.

He fought a great fight against a very dangerous opponent.

Two things can be true at the same time, yes I hate him, and yes he's also boring, which is part of the reason why I hate him.

Ok, Prates was a dangerous opponent... what about Geoff Neal? Split decision. And if you tell me Neal is also dangerous, what about Neil Magny? Probably the least "dangerous" ranked opponent in any division, one that every single ranked fighter finishes with ease, except Ian who he takes to decision.

He's fought 5 ranked guys in his last 5 fights, and every single one of those fights ended in a decision, I can't remember a single memorable moment in any of those fights, other than him flopping around like a fish in the 5th round against Prates.

Shavkat fought both Magny and Neal, finished both of them.

Morales knocked out Magny too.

So yeah, those guys are exciting going out there to make a statement. Ian is going out there to eek out decisions.

Great footwork? You know who had great footwork? Anderson Silva. He also finished almost every one of his UFC wins.

If I JUST wanna watch great footwork I'll go watch dancing with the stars. When I tune in to watch a UFC event, I wanna see violence.

That's fair

I honestly think Garry wanted to punish him. And look what happened to Malott when he chased the finish. Magny might not be "dangerous" but he literally has the most wins in the history of the division. And he wasn't exactly an easy out until after Garry beat him half to death.

I never said he would as a super exciting fighter. Just that he's really good.
Shavkat fought both Magny and Neal, finished both of them.
And Shavkat is the consensus #1 contender. Garry agreed to fight him on short notice and made him look human.
Morales knocked out Magny too.
See above.

Morales also went to a competitive decisions with Jake Matthews and Max Griffin.

Not exactly a fair comparison.

I too like violence. But I also like watching people who are very good at what they do.

I would love to see Garry vs Morales. And if that fight happens I propose a friendly wager.
