Feed Ian Garry to Morales

welterweight division really shaping up to be an absolute gladiator pit right now.

JDM. Shavkhat. Islam. Sean Brady. Usman. Belal. Garry. Morales.

Alot of guys that are undefeated in there.

Nah, Garry was the back up for the last title fight. He already beat Prates who is way more dangerous than Morales

Islam is getting the title shot next, and then Shavkat is next in line. Unless you think Ian deserves it more than the guy who just beat him, he's gonna have to win at least one if not 2 more fights before getting a shot.

I feel like Shavkat vs Garry was a draw. Garry's win over Prates catapulted him back to being number 1 contender. I would like to see Garry next for title shot. Shavkat vs Brady for the next #1 contender

Well you're the only one who feels that since every judge and every media scored it for Shavkat.

I also feel like Ian got his ass kicked vs Prates, won the point karate part, but took all the damage and inflicted virtually none.

i agree Shavkat won by scorecard. But neither guy showed up for this fight. Garry won on pride rules. He was the only guy that did real damage, injuring shavkats knee. In my mind i think of this fight as a draw.

You don't think beating Prates is impressive? Do you think anyone else in the division would have stepped up to fight Prates on short notice. Prates and Buckley are the scariest fighters in the division who everyone is trying to duck. Garry did UFC a solid, they owe him a title fight.

So you wanna give Ian the win over Shavkat "on pride rules", but you don't wanna apply pride rules to Ian vs Prates?

Be honest, who won between Ian and Prates using Pride rules?

the difference is Shavkat vs Garry had such little action that it is more of a default draw, and my brain needs to search for other ways to properly score this fight.

Garry definitively won 3 rounds vs 2 against Prates in UFC rules. So my mind doesn't need to factor in how the fight went according to pride rules.

I think Prates is such a dangerous opponent, that you have to win by any means necessary when fighting him.

This is a once in a lifetime event in history when you have so many killers lined up for a title shot. you desire to have all the prospets kill each other off, and kill the excitement in the division.

Nah I just desire activity, and whether I like it or not they are giving Makhachev the next title shot at WW, so everyone will have to fight someone. Ian will either have to fight Brady, Buckley or Morales, take your pick.

Also whatever mental gymnastics you need to use to pretend Shavkat didn't beat him, apply the same logic to Ian's wins. He beat Geoff Neal by split decision, to me that fight was a draw, apply the same logic.

“I wanted Ian to win v Shavkat so I’m going to randomly assign him a draw but I don’t need to make mental gymnastics to come to the result I want for his other fights”

You are absurdly contradictory bro

He wants to apply Pride rules to Ian vs Shavkat, but ignore Pride rules for Ian vs Prates, so convenient.

Shavkat already had his opportunity and he didn't show up cuz his knee had a booboo.

Ian was the back up to a title fight. He showed up and made weight

Y’all can’t be this gassed from one fight. I’ll watch whatever fights are on YouTube but damn..

Sure, but that same version of Burns took the current champ to the brink not long ago, and Morales just went through him like a hot knife through butter.

Ian has a few more ranked wins, but he can’t finish a fucken sandwich, I would pick Morales right now if they fought.
Yeah dude it’s called a steep drop off.

You lose 3 fights in a row, get even worse physically and mentally you don’t know what you’re fighting for..

Morales already has a more impressive win than any of Ian’s.
Morales looks like one hell of a young fighter and has done for a while, but waxing the husk of Gilbert Burns does not outstrip what Garry has done.

Garry's lost a 48-47 decision to Rakhmonov and beaten Prates on a 10 KO streak himself ffs. Just goes to show how much hate clouds the minds of emotional fans.

So you wanna use nuance when downplaying Ian’s loss, but say he just “beat” Prates, while excluding the part where we was flopping around the octagon like a fish in the fifth round barely making it to the final bell.
