hey, when you know nice people, ok, sure, they snuck into this motherfucker for their own stupid reasons and you know other, again, nice people who are not citizens but legal and I know how quickly any of that shit can just affect them, I worry. This kind of shit can really get out of control pretty quickly, trump is already talking crazy about anchor babies and shit. Now, we know from exp.,, fortunately, that trump is just running his mouth and really doesn't do anything he says but this is gonna get ugly eventually. You cannot have all these people, overnight, legal or illegal and not have some major problems. It won't be long before people will start calling for just potshotting these folks. We saw a lot of scattered incidents the first time Trump won, but it can get much, much worse.

Ah immigration. It is hard to say what he will do. He does talk a lot. I think unregulated immigration needs to be addressed and was let go way too much. He also said he plans to try and get a dreamers deal done with the dems which is a good thing. Ultimately we let the problem go so long there has to be a balance as generations are now involved and people that have no idea what their country of origin is like. Others arriving in the last several years is another story. They arent bad people at all but it's the same world wide. Most countries poor would do anything to get here and many filled with good peeps. Again its all a balance.

Immigration is a complex thing. I have a friend who is from India, educated at university of Michigan and wants to stay but doesn't look like it bc India is lower priority due to representation. And she is one of millions that come here for education that want to stay. Again, let's see how it shakes out.

As far as "legal" I have heard of a couple cases of "legal" Indians complaining about how many of their own kind are swarming about overnight, their biggest gripe was the ease with which the newer ones have gotten in, as well as just some sort of weird self loathing. Now, that is odd to have them complaining about their own kinds. I'm looking online and our african american population doesn't seem crazy about any immigrants coming over. The most fucked up thing about that in my opinion is that these immigrants will be shitting on them just as soon as they get a chance and they'll have a lot of people saying, "oh, they deserve it because blah blah blah" no they don't. I don't think they should really say a damned thing about any of us to us. Let them go talk amongst themselves but I have never really liked it when you get say a russian who complains about america all day long, it's very strange that they came here in the first place if that's how they feel. Not that I want to stick up for the USA but I don't want to hear that bullshit when we're supposed to be working either.

I don't see how India is "lower priority" I'm sure seeing a ton of them, more of them than probably any other immigrant in my town. Some actually don't even have any iota of interest in citizenship whatsoever. I know an ethiopian woman who cares nothing for our way of life and is just here to work hard and make money, don't know what if any of her future plans are but she told me she will never seek out citizenship, I have a close ethipian friend who's been here for about 40 years who's not seeking any citizenship either, wonderful guy. Both definitely take a lot of bullshit on the jobs they've done and they deal with it with a lot more grace than us americans would. Don't seem to hold grudges for the worst treatment and will still go the extra mile when I've said, "no, that's all I'm giving you" that goes a long way to explaining why we need them.

I think wanting to stay depends on the country you are coming from and your prospects going back especially for women as many countries are still male dominated cultures. Ethiopia is complex. Well, you will see bigots in the black community just like any. We are just made to feel it's only whites but any group can be prejudice. My ethio friend tells me how it affects their family structure just half a generation in, the parents are too tired and beat down to parent and the kids are running wild. The east Indian family i know i keep trying to warn, not that the kids are running wild, they aren't but the parents are in complete denial of what is lost by them working and leaving the kids for as much as they do. Bigotry exists in all cultures. I was engsged to a girl from Taiwan who dated a Korean before me. They weren't happy about me at first but went ape when she dated the Korean. Black americans and black immigrants from Africa often don't see eye to eye. I understand what you are saying about native Americans and I can't comment either way on how I'd feel in that position. I grew up in a small town in Louisiana so the whites stood by the whites and blacks stood by the blacks. I went away from that and its why I love my hometown but could never go back.
