I've been watching "both sides" bicker
* about him for years. Here's my conclusion:
1. no one (or so few that we can colloquially say "no one") hates him.
2. but there is a classic "I don't hate him but I hate his fans" situation going on
3. his fans feel this angst and get defensive
4. from that defensiveness, they righteously claim that everyone hates him, and that gets them even more entrenched.
5. which further entrenches the non-haters, who now defensively hate his fans even more.
6. and eventually politics or religion (similar to Godwin's Law) gets invoked and everyone loses their fucking shit.
He's a very good fighter.
*Is bicker an insulting enough term for those who engage in these stupid fucking arguments? Maybe "squabble" is better??
