Makhachev should have fought Belal Muhammad

The fight game is full of snakes and rats, it is what it is. The moment Belal lost Islam jumped up, like he was waiting and preying for his downfall also which is a bitch move in itself.
Jumped up and fought a guy on a 18 fight win streak who destroyed Belal.

Talking about it is one thing, but doing it immediately after your friend lost is a snake move. Period.
But fighting a friend who said he wouldn’t fight you and quite possibly taking their belt from them isn’t? It’s a lose lose. Who knows how things would have played out if Belal beat JDM but he didn’t and there’s not much Islam could do.

An individual sport that relies on working with people to help you hone your skills. Fighting somebody that knows all of your abilities first hand, your bad habits, weaknesses etc is just bad business.

It's why we've rarely seen training partners fight each other.
Boxers do it all the time

They must just be harder dudes

Belal get's smoked by Islam. He only became a threat once he started training with those boys and you aren't catchup a lifetime of grappling in a few camps.
His style has always been wrestling heavy though, it's not a 'striker putting extra emphasis into wrestling' kind of situation.

not really, it's usually when the fighters are at different stages of their career.
Like Ali vs Holmes
Or the payday is worth it for the fighters involved like Usman vs Burns

Makhachev had been talking about moving up to 170 lbs for a while & likely would have if Leon had beaten Belal, but when Belal became champion he straight up refused to fight Makhachev while Makhachev at first entertaining the idea but later Javier Mendez said they trained together and won't fight.

I don't dislike Belal Muhammad but he seems to have changed his tune since Makhachev became Champion, Belal now says it's a sport and if he got the opportunity he won't say no to a title fight.

Now he has also thrown Islam under the bus saying he wants to fight Kamaru because it's an easier fight and Ali, Usman & Makhachev are pushing it together.

What he's saying is true but it's a little scummy of Belal Muhammad to earlier pretend that he's best friends with Makhachev when he was champion and now that Makhachev is the champion he's open to fight him & indirectly calling him a duck.

If Makhachev had moved up to fight Belal he would have raked up atleast a couple of welterweight defences but he fell for belals brotherhood gimmick.
Did the same shit as Darren Till with Khamzat, befriend them so you can get away with not getting smoked

Belal said he'll move up when Islam will be ready to fight for his belt. Instead he lost and Islam took that belt anyway.

Belal knew Islam is coming and he was the one in debt with the Dagestani, not the other way around.

How? If he fights him it's a bitch move and if he fights someone else it's a bitch move?

Why can't it just be a drama-free option? That he didn't want to beat up his training partner for the belt and that as soon as that wasn't an obstacle he went to get the 2nd belt?

The guy is a subtle troll.
