But the world is a globe and Russia and China are west of me.

The term Western Civilization was coined when we thought the world was flat. But the world is a globe and Russia and China are west of me.
Who was the Muslim that suggested that? This is largely true. The Nazi's did some fucked up things, but made great economic progress for their country, were environmentalists (first to pass a law protecting the environment), cared for (their own) people, made great military and scientific progress. We only see one side of it. Hey, even Netanyahu says Hitler wanted to expel the Jews to the M.E. until a Muslim convinced him to exterminate them, but try telling that to your history teacher... he wouldn't even be allowed to tell you that, even though it's true.
But yeah, I'd rather live under a Nazi regime than a Merkel regime. I say this not to downplay the atrocities of the Nazi's, but to highlight the atrocities of Merkel. Again, a Nazi regime would be more in my self interests than a Merkel regime. People like Merkel will be the end of Western Civilization, and they see this as a good thing.
But yeah, the people see how fucking backwards the world has become. Getting conquered is seen as the only "good, reasonable thing" to do.
What I'm saying is both sides are extremists. The lefts willingness to embrace Communism and the rights willingness to embrace Nazism are two dangers.
Are there no sensible people that want some (albeit limited) social programs, a rational stance on immigration, a open position of freedoms, and a rational stance on foreign policy and a willingness to go to war? Yes, they are out there perhaps even the majority... but they largely aren't in academia and rarely make their way into the media.
I'm much more of a moderate than I let on, I'm just reacting and offering a push back.
Where we were in the 1980's and 1990's is the correct place to be. History will prove this, I'm confident.
I'll let the P.M. of Israel explain. His last name was Hussein.Who was the Muslim that suggested that?

1. I don't think so. I think it's just under the banner "globalism" now.1. There are extremists on both sides, but Communism is dead, and it seems like extremists are increasingly lining up together against the center.
2. That's pretty much mainstream liberalism.
3. Sure, though we've made some significant advances since then in America--especially on healthcare.
And pushing back against extremists by becoming one doesn't correct anything--it just leads to a battle of extremists. It's funny that as the evidence in favor of American culture piles up, we're seeing increasing resistance to it.
Educated people knew the world was globular in Ancient Egypt. Somewhere along the lines we forgot and relearned. There are still people who think the world is flat, but educated people did not think it was flat when the term Western Civilization was coined.

1. I don't think so. I think it's just under the banner "globalism" now.
2. The mainstream liberals were the ones advocating bringing in the Islamic radicals. The guy driving the truck through the Christmas market is an example of Merkelian policies.
3. I agree. But I don't know what else to do? They are going to call me a Nazi either way because I think it's a bad idea to bring in people who want to stab college kids, rape women, and drive trucks through people.
So uncoin it. I am continent neutral.
1. Fair enough. It's also a communist thing though, google it. Communism is international. I just think we should stop intervening in foreign affairs altogether.1. Not even close to true. What's called "globalism" is very much a capitalist thing. The international right (Putin, Le Pen, Trump, etc.) is a competing globalist, anti-West movement but it isn't communist in any sense.
2. Not really. Your objection is that you don't think they do enough to vet immigrants or refugees and the possibility that a significant portion of radicals could come in exists. I don't happen to agree with you on that, but that's the debate. How do we weigh the risks against the benefits? Not "these guys *want* people to come in and commit crimes and those guys don't."
3. I think when you talk about liking Hitler and compare him favorably to moderate leaders you have relatively mild policy disagreements with, people are more likely to call you a Nazi. If you say you just want a return to 1980s and 1990s American policies (whatever you're referring to exactly--it's better to be specific), no one will think you're a Nazi.
No one says you have to like the American or Western model. Doesn't do any good to pretend to be confused about it, though.

From my understanding, there is much pressure to keep the history "as it is".Ah, thanks. Hadn't heard of him before, but I'm no WWII scholar.
For those interested:

The section about the holocaust specifically quotes differing conclusions about his involvement from the trials and other texts.
"Virtually identical"
Not really, I don't like Hitler. I would prefer him to Merkel though
Because with Merkel your great grandkids will end up with an Islamic theocracy. Because I'd prefer Nazi Germany to an Islamic theocracy, I get the Sloth.gif???
