“I honestly thought the Khamzat - Whittaker fight was going to be it, but I honestly don’t care...” Du Plessis said at Wednesday’s UFC 305 media day.

“I’m here to beat whoever – the fight the people now want to see. That is, at the end of the day, what we do. We entertain the people, we entertain the crowd,
and entertain the people that buy the tickets, buy the pay-per-views.”

“I don’t mind fighting either one of those – Strickland, Khamzat, or Whittaker. All three of those fighters have their pros and cons. Fighting Strickland, a lot of people
want to see it - but it’s a rematch. But if that’s the decision of the UFC, OK, let’s go for it. Fighting Khamzat, he’s never been beaten. It’s going to be a massive fight
just in terms of numbers. Great, let’s do it! Fighting Whittaker, it's all-time legend Robert Whittaker – but it’s a rematch. So there’s pros and cons in fighting any of these three guys."

This is the correct energy a champion needs to have... 💯

Stopped Whittaker too but went to a close split dec with Sean so that fight would probably sell better but I like Whittaker better than Sean so if rather see him get it.
technically, Strickland has done better recently than Whittaker, but Whittaker has put in hard work to earn another title shot, unlike Strickland. I'd be cool with Whittaker getting the shot

He ran over Whittaker, so that fight is a bit weird. If Khamzat wins, even that is kind of strange, as it will be his first MW fight, albeit against a top 5 guy. That also depends on if he actually makes it to the cage.

Sean and Dricus makes the most sense because it was a very close, highly competitive fight. Dricus looked like he had been hit by a truck afterwards.

Reporter: "Was (Adesanya's loss to Strickland) an off night for him or is this potentially the beginning of a new Adesanya we're going to see going forward?"
Dricus: "It was an off night for him. It was very evident, in terms of how he fought..the whole fight."

I like to think so too. Nice to see Dricus is taking this seriously and keeping it real.

More I hear about DDP's mentality the more I dig the guy. Not sure he pulls it off against Izzy but I'm rooting for the real African here.

Never believe Dana. If Khamzat beats Rob in spectacular fashion he is 100% getting the next title shot. Strickland gets it if Rob wins or if the fight is lackluster.

He was off because he got rocked bad early and was gun shy the rest of the fight.

Maybe, but the Khamzat/Whittaker fight isn't until October, so Strickland will probably get it unless Khamzat wants to turn around quicker than he usually does

Khamzat vs the winner of DDP/Adesanya vs Strickland
