Nothin new there

If they ever get another Conor type star they will definitely do ppv again. They would be stupid not too. The money is too good on ppvs if the star is right.

PPV is dead even Conor can´t sell shxt now.

If you wanna do PPV you need to bring Prime-Tyson or Prime Mayweather or Prime Pacman or Prime Muhammad Ali in order to do some real PPV.

These were the biggest PPV sellers of all time making Conor nothing in comparison.

Did you know that Muhammad Ali vs Joe Frezer 3 sold a whopping 100.000.000 PPV buys (It is still to this day the biggest fight of all times)

Mike Tyson has like 10-15 fights over 1.5 million sales while Mayweather has the 3rd highest sold fight of all time vs Pacman..

The Lephrechuan could sell but his star fadded very very quickly as he ran into defeats and can´t sell.. What makes someone a seller is an aura of being unbeatable. Whereas fighters like Ali, Tyson, Mayweather, Pacman etc etc they have dynasties and eras where they went undefeated cleaned the competition

More people can kick a ball consistently than can kick someone in the head consistently.
Yes, purely due to the infrastructure and popularity of football/soccer.

Which exposes how bush league MMA is.. give it 100~ years maybe.

They’ll still need to do PPV for a Power Cockslap match between Conor and Ilia. Can’t show nudity on CBS.

Probably a breach of contract. They can't. But getting 1.1 billion a year is already winning
We dont know the contract details, they may still have a ppv clause in this new deal in case they find a new Conor.

Conors done they need a new guy. People are tired of seeing him get his ass kicked. PPV stars that can cross the 1 million mark are rare, even guys that sell 500k are hard to find. If UFC ever does ppv again it would be a really special talent.

Whatever

I know Dana said "bigger than soccer"

but no fight sport is gonna be bigger than soccer. It dont mean it's bush league, but watching the everloving bejeezus out of each other has less global appeal than the ball games most people grew up actually playing.

...and there's nothing wrong with that.

Right?
Wouldn't put it past Dana to try to do special events a few times a year.

Stack it with Conor and his stars under a ppv model. Maybe give Paramount one free advertisement.

I'm sure Paramount would love if UFC got a Conor level star and UFC put him on PPV only. And I'm sure UFC would love pissing off the company giving them a billion dollars a year.

I would sue if I were Paramount. They are paying for the whole ka-bang.

People thinking UFC can just fuck them over without repercussions are trippin

Obviously, just look at the greedy people running the UFC.

Agree. 100%.

Just saying it wouldn't surprise me If Dana tried to sneak a special event in there, like the White House card or something.

Of course they'll find a way to make you pay for it.

NBA league pass, NFL Sunday ticket, NHL center ice, MLB. TV, etc.

In 1979 there were around 300 million television sets in households world wide. In 1975 it was probably 60% of that number (68-69 million in the US). A somewhat significant number of them were in communist countries. That number is just not realistic even if you add people going to bars/movie theaters.

Honestly one should go to Youtube.

The sport is now affordable and they need access to young people. Youtube dominates streaming hours, they crush every other platform. Ultimate Fighter is stale af but send it up for free in partnership with Youtube, they'll foster new fans.
