Media Dana suggests PPV isnt dead for potential mega stars.

In 1979 there were around 300 million television sets in households world wide. In 1975 it was probably 60% of that number (68-69 million in the US). A somewhat significant number of them were in communist countries. That number is just not realistic even if you add people going to bars/movie theaters.
That number is just lol insane. 100 million people might have watched it, but not on PPV.

The record is Mayweather vs Pac at 4.4 million ppv buys

PPVs are for niche sports that want to extract as much as they can out of a small fanbase.

If MMA wants "global fucking domination" and getting "bigger than soccer", PPVs need to die.

I am hopeful that Paramount+ is the start of a new great era.
UFC needs to go after those big sponsors like FIFA. I have tvs that I bring out for the fifa World Cup to watch at my business. Customers hang out and cheer all day for European or South American teams. I’ve shown a few ufc fights and no one is interested or impressed. I love the fight much more than soccer but I can’t explain others interest

A lot of companies don't want to associate their branding with cage fighting brotha. That's why we are stuck with beer, energy drinks and gambling sites. A shout out to condom Depot (rip)

Daner is coping

PPV or paramount plus doesnt matter. im still going to stream every event for free. hell i stream ESPN+ fight nights. fuck WME and dana white.
but I'm still desperate to watch their content so I stream it...cool story bro

Megastars? Conor, Lesnar, Rousey, Khabib, Nate seem like they might could fit inside that label… maybe. Rousey is the only one that might return for 1 more fight imo

Sean Strickland and thug nasty aren’t good for pr either.

Wouldn't that go against the deal with Paramount? If they do a PPV, without Paramount?

I'm sure Paramount would love if UFC got a Conor level star and UFC put him on PPV only. And I'm sure UFC would love pissing off the company giving them a billion dollars a year.

This

Paramount wont allow PPVs to happen, Im sure. They have invested way too much money to have the product damaged by Dana trying to do a rug pull like that.

I'm not Murican but didn't you have to have an ESPN subscription to be able to buy PPV's?

Even if not, would that really be out of the realm of possibilities?
