Charles Oliveira is a free agent

Charles Oliveira put himself in excellent position to renegotiate a new deal by choking Kevin Lee with a guillotine at UFC Brasilia on March 14. He completed his UFC contract with seven straight wins in less than two years.

“We’re going through very difficult times with the coronavirus, so it’s in (my managers’) hands,” he told MMA Fighting. “‘Macaco’ called me 15 of 20 days after the event and said he spoke with (UFC matchmaker) Sean (Shelby), and Sean said they would wait for this whole coronavirus thing to be over to sit and talk. We know the contract with the UFC is over, but it will definitely be renewed.”

Da Bronx is on fire. Will UFC cough up the cash?
For a moment i re-checked to see if it was you who posted the thread or that robotic hat clickbaiting guy lmao

His checklis should include a pay bump and a guaranteed TS after one more top 5 win with a top 5 LW as his next opponent thats my terms if im him

He will never be champion, but he’s exciting and seems to be a workhorse company man, like Magny or Cerrone. Smart decision would be to keep him and pay him his worth.

He makes 110k-110k which I'm really surprised hes getting. Good for him but dont see him getting much better honestly.

I can't believe its 2020 and I still need to say there is no official purse information for international cards. We have no idea what Do Bronx made in his last fight in Brazil.

The last time Oliveira fought under a commission that releases official purses was UFC on FOX 31 (December 2018) and he was paid 90k show and 90k win.

He may be on a win elevator depending on his previous contract and increases with 4 more wins since then.

Frankly he deserves 200k to show at this point. He's one of the most entertaining guys in the sport, puts on a fun fights, is a veteran of 20+ fights and frequently pulls off big finishes.

I'd much rather see him on a 200/100 then a 150/150, at a minimum.

120/120 for a middle of the pack guy is pretty good tbh. That is how much the top guys in Bellator make. Mousasi, Pitbull, Machida, Chandler, Cyborg, etc. all make in the 150-200k per fight range. I dont see Bellator forking over 150/150 for Oliveira. As good and entertaining as he is, he is not top 5 in his division and doesnt not have name value.
Without Bellator to compete for Oliveira's services the UFC will not have to bump up his salary.
However, if Bellator or ONE or whoever were to lure him away that would be a huge statement for the MMA community. For a long time UFC veteran to jump ship like that, it would make headlines.

It would be stupid if they let go of one of the most exciting guys in the sport. I will never forget when he moved back to 155 and was so much stronger.

Hope he gets well paid, he's been one of my favourite fighters to watch for years.

He deserves a nice pay bump for sure. Man is always exciting and on a fuckI got tear right now. Just in time for a nice raise and a top 5 opponent to see where he ranks

Very exciting fighter who’s just entering his prime... maybe he can work a title shot or a money fight in there now that he has the leverage

<{titihmm}>

First, he has no leverage.
2, hes not going to be in any money fights.

He is in the best position possible to cash in on his efforts. He not only wins, he has exciting fights and he finishes with either subs or KOs. He is also lucky his last win was over a fairly big name in his division to help boost his recognition.

He will get paid and a title eliminator is likely. If not with the UFC, than some place else.

they pay the going rate but to think he can ask for champons pay is crazy talk.

it not like now he can try to demand for 250k a fight when he never be more than a top 10 guy.

So an exciting fighter entering his prime on a 7 fight win streak (all via finish) at the end of his contract “doesn’t have any leverage”... yeah okay buddy.

Wtf resign his ass asap. Do Bronx is must see TV

with all that going on how can you talk about his next fight when the ufc has no idea when fights will start back up again.

there still a huge chance may 9th wont happen either.
