Charles Oliveira put himself in excellent position to renegotiate a new deal by choking Kevin Lee with a guillotine at UFC Brasilia on March 14. He completed his UFC contract with seven straight wins in less than two years.

“We’re going through very difficult times with the coronavirus, so it’s in (my managers’) hands,” he told MMA Fighting. “‘Macaco’ called me 15 of 20 days after the event and said he spoke with (UFC matchmaker) Sean (Shelby), and Sean said they would wait for this whole coronavirus thing to be over to sit and talk. We know the contract with the UFC is over, but it will definitely be renewed.”

Da Bronx is on fire. Will UFC cough up the cash?

Hope he gets a an upgrade on his deal. he deserves it. imo

Very exciting fighter who’s just entering his prime... maybe he can work a title shot or a money fight in there now that he has the leverage

<{titihmm}>

Bet they let him walk and say he was super fucking expensive.

Hopefully they re-sign him ASAP, it would be a huge mistake to let him go, Charles is always so fun to watch and always lets go!!!! no point fighting BS, he lets go always win or lose. Great to watch

Let him walk to Bellator tbh. He has a better chance of winning a title there and get paid well.

I guess he's coming for that Bellator LW title because the UFC stands very firm in their negotiations of non-draws.

That's how gunt got that 600k deal. So Oliveira will probably be offered like 50/50...

A late bloomer who isn't a big name, might kill some of Dana's cash cows, and wants more money?

I see how this might play out unfortunately.

He makes 110k-110k which I'm really surprised hes getting. Good for him but dont see him getting much better honestly.

Not at all the attitude he should have going into negotiations, and he certainly shouldn't be saying that publicly.

Hopefully he/his manager knows his worth and gets paid. Oliveira is one of the most exciting fighters in the organization. He's been putting on great performances for years and is still improving. Dude deserves to make good money.

He's exciting, active, and on a long win streak.

UFC low-ball offer is imminent...

Yes, he just put himself in a life changing position. I’m pretty sure he now has a salary that won’t force him to flip burgers once his career is over.

That's actually not awful. I agree, better than I thought his contract was.

150/150 and a serious bump for any title fight is probably the deal he's offered.

My favorite fighter on the roster.
Pay the man.
