Maybe if Prates wins the belt, but Dave is a big celebrity and king in his own little world in Burma, a country of 50 million people. Prates is just emerging as a possible contender.

He can't live in Burma.

I haven't followed anything about him since he had that video on TUF.

Crazy to see he when on to become some superstar in Lethwei in Burma.

He also somehow looks 15 years younger now than he did on TUF, is in way better shape, and married some Moldovian babe.

I figured this dude would just fight MT for a bit longer, and fade away into obscurity as a washed up alcoholic haha.

Yeah I have to say that I underestimated prates before this. I had assumed he's the next Thomas Almeida, someone that looks like a destroyer against lower level competition, but where a lack of speed/athleticism would inhibit how far he can climb. Prates obviously has better defense than Almeida and I think his style is just patient and calculated.

Garry is only going to have a chance by wrestling him, even still everyone has tried that since DWCS and he still has never been taken down. The way Garry fought MVP is not going to work this time. If he tries that it exposes how 1 dimensional his game is. He's one of my favorite newer fighters in the UFC and definitely will be in the fold at the top.

lol Leduc was beating guys way smaller than him and got famous because he adopted the Burmese folklore, while his main opponent was from the Ethnic minority and didn't fit with the main ethnicity's folklore
Prates also fought Dieselek, a high-level Nak Muay. He was sometimes Carlos Monteiro or Carlos Vega

He is kind of weird. He is a Canadian guy with a kung fu background. I believe he had some MMA fights before he started kickboxing. I think he moved to Phuket and was a regional MT fighter there. Like I said before, he found his niche in Lethwei. He never made the transition to international kickboxing. His best win is probably over Cyrus Washington who is a MT journeyman. I am not sure if Too Too or Tun Tun Min are professional athletes or local tough guys.

I think he does good work with charity but he sort of made himself to be some bareknuckle GOAT in Lethwei. He has around 10 fights in Lethwei. He did his bulk of his training at Tiger MT in Thailand. I am not sure if he even trained extensively in Burma. Dude lives in Cambodia or something. He was doing this whole Burma>Thailand thing and even the Lethwei association told him to stop.
