Stylistically Imavov is a bad matchup for him - faster, longer, better boxing, better footwork.

Caio is a neutralizer, fighting rangy guys that can pressure, outfight and clinch/wrestle isn’t what he’s built for.

Imavov deserves the fight more than anyone else. But it's kind of irrelevant who fans think is most deserving. What matters is who UFC wants to give a title shot to the most.

He was a multiple division champ and is running up the UFC ladder. That's pretty impressive.

Caio is normally a very intelligent guy who normally doesn´t do this but this time he did and even chose to become replacement for the Dricus-Chimaev. He was also talking more about a future title fight then only focussing on Imavov like the Sniper was focussing solely on him.

Imho he didn´t think much of Imavov stylistically which later proved to be a fatal mistake, you could say he kinda of miscalculated Imavov´s calmness and levelheadness which is what decided the fight cause he fought so emotionless that he even didn´t let the crowd to get to him and go more on the attack as everything was measured and this is what Caio missed to take note.

Was he trying to sandbag with his grappling? Maybe he was trying not to show his full grappling Arsenal to surprise khamzat?

For sure. I’m not trashing the win. Under normal circumstances, Imavov should expect a TS. But pink goof gambling addict basically said whoever dazzles him is getting the TS next. Imavov could still sneak in if RDR/Fluffy can’t make it due to injury or something, but otherwise, we won’t be seeing Imavov for a while if he plans on waiting.

And I doubt he’ll be patient. He already thinks he should be next based off the Izzy KO. He’s going to be bitching a lot when he gets usurped by Fluffy/RDR.
