Ankalaev was on a 14-fight undefeated streak - This was Pereira best win in his career without doubt

Adesanya has eight wins in title fights. Ank has one.

All that means nothing as Poatan will never want to give Ank a rematch and run from him to the hills that is how much important this fight is for him.

He will never give Ank the opportunity to get it back. Ank never bothered to even use his wrestling which means stylistically Big Ank was 100 times more tougher opponent then Izzy whom Pereira finished twice before and beat him 3 times.

Pereira´s team will never give Ank rematch that is how much it means to them to get this W.

They know Ank will change things up and turn wrestler on them in the 3rd fight

Ank failed 12 takedown attempts against Alex in the first fight. His wrestling means nothing if he can't use it against Alex.

So it comes down to the striking, and Ank is nowhere close to Izzy in that area.

Jiri and Adesanya are still better wins...

Adesanya at MW was undefeated 23-0 & UFC champion with 5 title defenses.

Jiri was UFC and former Rizin champion on a 13-fight win streak (and he has more top ten wins than Ank).

Jiri is 16-0 with 15 finishes vs people not named Alex Pereira in the last 9 years and 6-0 vs non Poatan UFC opponents, 5 of them being top 5, all of those top 7 (Volkan Oezdemir was #7)

Izzy has 7 UFC title wins. That is an outstanding win, especially considering it was Alex's 4th UFC fight as I recall.

Poatan has some huge wins and and a pretty exceptional strength of schedule, 8 of his 12 UFC fights have been title fights

Poatan has faced 9 UFC champs in his last 10 fights

Ank and Pereira are 1-1 while Pereira and Izzyu are 3-1..

Team Pereira will never offer a rematch trilogy to Ank that says everything you need to know.

Lers stop the bs

Have you actually watched those 4 fights between Alex and Izzy?

Dude had an all-time lame performance. Why are you acting like he was thoroughly outclassed? He got hit behind the ear with an overhand and basically said screw this live to fight another day my momma isn't going to see me get stiffened up, Herb call this, I lost.

Pretty crazy that Izzy never did that huh

The true ground reality is that this was a massive win for Pereira and stylistcally a tougher fight and much better win then his 3rd victory over Izzy whom he had already beaten twice

Izzy didn't hit that clean but if you watch rematch in UFC Alex missed my fractions of inches on some fight ending shots. Ank just got blitzed. He fucked up. Wasn't in right frame of mind to fight a dude trying to annihilate him fast.

Funny how Izzy has won 8 title fights in the UFC, and Ank has only won one.

i agree it was a bigger win

Funny how they're in different weight classes. Prime Izzy narrowly beating Cannonier and Marvin Vettori as title wins really means a lot to you huh?

Opposed to Ankalaev needing a 10-8 round 5 just to get a draw with Jan Blachowicz? And lol at Izzy narrowly beating Cannonier or Vettori.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Same Jan that Izzy at his absolute peak was getting 10-8'd in 5th round and was gonna get finished.

Izzy thoroughly outpointed by Cannonier. Didn't hurt him once.
