So its taken Aspinall just over 13 minutes to beat all 8 of his opponents in his UFC career so far, a few of them top 10 fighters as well

It took Jon Jones 14 and a half minutes to beat a 42 year who hasn't won a fight for 4 years

I love how crapping on Jones has turned into crapping on Stipe to crap on Jones.

It really is a shame. Stipe at his best was a great fighter. One of the best ever at HW in the UFC.

But it was absurd to think he'd be anywhere near his best. He was out too long, was too old, and was coming off a bad loss. He should never have been in a title fight considering the circumstances. That's my issue with the situation - Jones cherry picked a fight with an over the hill ex champ instead of fighting the interim champ.

No disrespect to Stipe is meant by any of this - Stipe on his best night would have been a huge test for Jones and a legitimately competitive fight imo. But that was never going to happen in 2024, and pretending otherwise was wishful thinking at best and outright delusion at worst
