Media Arnold Allen deadlifts 440lbs

You're way off man.
2x body weight is fit, 2.5x is strong, 3x is notable.
Any reasonably in shape guy who weight lifts generally will be able to pull a 2x 1RM.

yeah unless you're a heavy dude getting to a 2x bw 1rm should just be about learning deadlift mechanics and getting your nervous system used to handling loads and all of that happens very quickly

No lift. Also, nothing impressive about a 440 lbs. deadlift at any BW above 150.

says someone who doesn't do 1% of the cardio or martial arts training that fighters do. They don't focus on powerlifting big news

Tried my hand at an MMA gym for a while. I found training MMA and heavy weight lifting/powerlifting to really not mesh well. Pushing around heavy weights at my limit the day after getting all my joints or muscles pulled on, or vice versa, felt like an injury waiting to happen.

I find these strength videos a lot more impressive now.

Anyone who does any sort of respectable sport or bodybuilding knows deadlifting is the most Pleb of all free weight exercises, it’s always the people with mediocre gains or built like bags of dog food who deadlift.

You sound like someone well past your prime lol.

Okay? Not really sure how to respond to an unsubstantiated, elementary, logically fallacious shit post like this other than to call it as such. It's really not worth anyone's time to acknowledge this kind of discourse as it's a waste of time and energy. I hope you find something in life that helps you feel better about yourself outside of Sherdog. Cheers.

Yeah, programming is really important in terms of recovery.

For the type of athletic performance needed in MMA, doing a 1 rep max is totally unnecessary and frankly very silly given the risk of injury (which can be even career threatening if severely affecting the lumbar spine).

Much better to work in the 5-15 reps range, without a belt to fully engage the core, keeping rest breaks at a minimum, perhaps forcing a greater range of motion (for example by standing on a step).

So I weight 120 kg, I can be considered strong once I dealift 300 kg.

that's what the gym bros on sherdog don't understand

Considering I've boxed for 22 years and wrestled at a D1 college, I think my cardio is just fine.
Say you're weak and scrawny without saying you're weak and scrawny.

Squats and clean and jerk are the most important lifts for increasing punching power

Say you're triggered without saying you're triggered. I'm fine I just know that elite powerlifting doesn't mesh with elite martial arts training, just as anyone who trained for 20+ years know

Maybe for bench or squat… Not deadlifts, the most useless of all free weight bar exercises.

Lol, you cant be serious about deadlifting being useless. It is one of the best compound lifts you can do. If you want to gain a lot of muscle in your upper and lower body and only do one compound lift the deadlift is arguably the best.
