Wightlifting is garbage for fighters
I think most powerlifters I know use a belt, especially for training. I could be wrong but doesn't it help for preventing abdominal years and hernias a lot?
Pretty easy to rupture a disc and your back is compromised for the rest of your life .
Supposedly a belt prevents the full gamut of core muscles from developing.
I guess it's like comparing lifting heavy weights on a machine to working with free weights.
A powerlifter who intends to powerlift might as well wear one. Someone who wants to maximise power across the spectrum of muscle movement might not want to.
With a double overhand grip, no straps.
I’m impressed!
a) Belts don’t prevent hernias or ruptured disks.
b) Belts don’t prevent your core from getting strong. Any reduced demands on the abs are offset by the fact that you can handle heavier weights, which require stronger contractions.
The purpose of a belt is providing your abs something to contract and push against. This resistance allows for a more rigid torso, and in turn this allows you to, in general, deadlift more weight than if you didn’t wear one and had a less rigid torso. Same way that you can never contract your biceps as much by yourself compared to pulling against some sort of resistance. This is why most powerlifters wear them, same with squatting. That’s pretty much it.
I've just heard people say they don't need to wear belts for that reason - it restricts total motion.
I've also heard people say turmeric is an elixir everyone should eat in every meal, so I always take commentary from non-scientists with a pinch of salt (see what I did there?)
Who the hell trusts a scientist these days?
Tongue in cheek or otherwise, you, in pretty much everything you do.
Reason you don't step off 50 story buildings is because scientists told you not to, and you believe them.
LOL
Or, because I can throw an orange off and observe what happens to it.
Yes, because that's normal scientific behaviour.
Are you familiar with how gravity was discovered by scientists?

Before they discovered it, was shit just flying around everywhere?

Before they discovered vaccines, were people just dying unnecessarily from viruses?
Think what you want, but almost everything you do was at some point discovered by a scientist or mathematician.
Setting your alarm in a morning.
Eating certain foods.
Exercising.
Using a computer/tablet/phone.
You'd have to be a bit of a dingus to say you don't trust scientists when everything that you see around you (assuming you're indoors) was created by someone smarter than you with an eye on science, math, and art.
Viruses?
I thought you were talking about gravity.
I do trust The Sweet Science tho.
Anyways I didn't mean to trigger you buddy. Have a nice day.
A Olympic Bar & Plates don't punch back.Yet he couldn't even out muscle a skinny fat lanklet like Holloway
what a worthless, silly lift.
I've seen plenty of MMA guys tout their DL, but how come they can't toss around a 145lb man?

Is Psychology science ?
Do you consider religion science ?
Is music science ?
Do you think humans are self sufficient and weren't created by God ?
Are you an atheist ?
Do you have a soul ?
Can science be wrong and scientific theories change ?
Is your iq above 70 ?
Are IQs science ?
How do. you believe iq tests measure inteligence without Scientifically meassuring the brain ?
Who decides what counts for iq and which questions indicate iq ?
Did time start or was it always there ?
Dies the universe have an end or is it infinitive ?
