Factually and demonstrably now.

Defensively it was actually comical how much better Ank was seeing Poatan's shots than vice versa. Not only that, but Poatan needed to be saved by the bell at the end of round 2.

When Ank realized how shit Poatan is off the back foot he took that and ran. Ank on the other hand knows how to fight very well off the back foot.

Nothing to do with not wanting to be taken down in the middle of the ring then? Hence why he was back stepping. OP is a Stupid casual with no clue about what he's watching.

Frustrating watch, we were all waiting for the Periera onslaught which never came, if you negate the left hook, he's half the fighter.

If you mean better MMA striker then I can see it because you have to implement your striking despite the takedown. But if we are talking pure striker then claiming Ank is the better striker is absurd.

While he did obviously shoot a fair amount and play the drain game against the fence, he did what he said in standing for most of it with what everybody considered the most dangerous standup guy in the game.

Fair play to Ank, decent win for sure. Not a great one for the just bleed fan though! Looking forward to the rematch, I think both guys might be more relaxed and willing to take risks.

I really can't stand when a fighter loses and people immediately cry "FRAUD CHECKED!"

Pereira is obviously not a fraud... But I hope people will finally be realistic about what Pereira is.
He is a good fighter who was the beneficiary of some of the most favorable matchmaking in UFC history.

How many fighters in UFC history were given title shots with only 3 UFC fights and only a 6-1 overall MMA record?
TWO. Pereira and Brock Lesnar. Two fighters that the UFC thought they could squeeze money out of.

I understand why people like Pereira so much, but my god, people have really struggled to be honest and realistic about him as a fighter.

Ank is 32 Poatan is 38. He did well enough for me

That was kind of on my mind too. We were all ready to toss Volkanovski out because he was 35. Why can't we recognize that Peirera might just be getting past his prime?

Because you need evidence of physical deterioration to make that call, especially at the higher weight classes. Alex was just out played, pure and simple. He lost because Ank has a better skill set and used those skills more effectively.

He is better everything than Alex.

Better striking, better wrestling, better movement, better chin.

This whole stuff should've happened a long ass time ago. He ate Alex's lowkicks like candy. People act as if he was compromised by Jan's lowkicks, but he ate like 50 of those and then outwrestled Jan with ease.

Things are the way they should be now

Is Chris Weidman a better striker than Anderson? Khabib better than McGregor?

Being slower and less powerful is certainly evidence of physical deterioration. When Jones was having closer fights with Cruz and Santos, people were calling him past his prime, weren't they?
