That's also an interesting question, at what stage does someone's opinion become relevant? Without trying to sound like an elitist prick, I don't really care about some 2018/2019 fan's opinion on Fedor.

But we also have to be realistic, if we keep the discussion between fans who were there when PRIDE was around, there wouldn't be a lot of us and we'd have talked about everything there is to talk about...

My argument was a response to a guy saying they faced similar competition which I completely disagree with. WW and LHW were the premier divisions at the time. If you take that into account then it explains away your points. If you ignore that(which is a valid approach imo since it's subjective) then yes Anderson was better vs his competition than GSP was vs his. Though this is all academic because Jon Jones did both(tough division + dominant/decisive wins).

GSP probably edges Anderson in resume altough Anderson has some great wins outside the UFC but the level of dominance Anderson had over his opponents isn't even on the same planet as GSP over his competition.

Vitor Belfort is one of the best names on Anderson's resume and he front kicked his face off. Dan Henderson got completely dominated on the ground. This 2 wins alone are better than any performance GSP put in the octagon.

Anderson in his prime is probably the most spetecular fighter of all time, and at the time they both were in the peaks, Anderson hold the majority of the P4P records while GSP hold all the WW records. How can GSP be the GOAT when he wasn't the UFC king when he was around? That's my take but i think obviously GSP has his argument for the "GOAT debate". I always had the opinion that you can rank Jones, Fedor, Silva and GSP however you want and i won't necessarily disagree. Jones is the perfect mix of skill set plus accomplishments.

Those are better than Hughes? GSP knocked Hughes out twice in one fight. Hughes was top 3 p4p and goat WW. Silva's wins over Hendo (coming off a loss and 2-2 in his last 4 fights) and NON TRT Vitor pales in comparison to that. GSP beat WW Shields who embarassed Hendo (Silva's best win). Thats what you need to know when comparing their strenght of opposition. Every single mma media in the world said WW had the stronger competition. Somehow Silva's retarded fanbois are trying to revisit history by twisting facts over the years and believing their own bullshit.

I have GSP as the overall Goat but your Silva Assessment is way off and you are undervaluing his wins.

Hendo was the uncrowned champ in most ppls minds going into that fight.

cherry picking a small snippet of his career does not paint an accurate picture of who he is.

he was 22-6 going into that fight being the Pride WW (185) GP champ and MW (205)champ and his recent loss was for the UFC LHW title.

Fact : Hendo was 2-2 coming into the Silva fight, and he did lose to Misaki. Yes he beat Wand soon after the axe murder got murdered by CC. Wand was washed up by then. HE shouldnt have taken fights against HW Hunt and CC. It killed his prime. Hendo still lost to Misaki. FACT.

Fact : Vitor was OFF TRT for his fight against Silva. That's a FACT. So no, that was absolutely NOT the TRT version. Not only did he claim he wasnt on TRT for that fight (horse' mouth) but you can clearly see from his physique that he wasn't.
