Alex Periera just posted cryptic pic including Tom Aspinall

Ank deserves his shot, but this looks to be the obvious direction they are going in. Chance to build Tom's name off Alex, Alex with a chance to make history. It's a win-win for the org and both fighters. Usually when a possibility like this falls in their lap, they would be fools not to take it. This of course is contingent upon Jon beating Stipe and retiring or Stipe getting the upset and retiring. Tom and Alex have both stated they would fight one another. I think Alex wants to fight Tom next. Ank may get skipped if he wins.

Seems about right. Jonny might have to face the winner, but the other guy's loss will be used as justification to avoid him ever having to fight both of them before retiring.

Poatan is my current fave fighter, but I don't like his chances against Tom.

Aspinall is very quick for a HW, with really powerful hands and good grappling.

Alex is a great striker with a complete arsenal, but he has shown liabilities in the grappling department.

Also, a good deal of his striking advantage is due to his lankiness and frame, which goes out the window vs Tom. Aspinall is a huge guy with long limbs as well.

Think Jon retires, Tom gets elevated and first defense is against Alex. Think Poatan's team sees it this way. This could just be a post to see if there is interest in the fight, so they could take it to the UFC match makers and show this fight is more viable than an Ank fight (and much tougher, Tom is much better than Ank and is a difficult style matchup)

Ank getting skipped again!!!

If Jones vs Stipe gets scrapped and Alex fights Aspinall on whatevers notice, he's truly the champ we don't deserve.

Sadly, since we know Jon would not take short notice fights and Stipe claims to only want Jon, this would probably be the fight, but they would need to strip Jon.

It'd be a dumb decision to move up and fight Tom or Jon, we already saw this fight when Jon subbed Gane without breaking a sweat.

Alex ranks the aspinall fight as a hard 9

1 being an easy fight, 10 the hardest.

Alex says he always wants to challenge himself and I believe him

I'd prefer Alex jones or ddp though
