Oh I don't deny that some of these kids are brilliant. That's not the point of the post though. I don't want anyone having access to this information unless they've gone through a rigorous process that includes going through their entire background, making sure they are apolitical, confirming there is no conflict of interest, etc. Energy department is incredibly important to national security.
A lot of these DOGE findings have been debunked too.
Here's an example. There was a claim that 3,000,000 dollars was being used to research shrimp on a treadmill. That number was false and even if it were true it would still be very beneficial to us. It tested how well shrimp could swim in polluted water. They'd change the water every now and then until it got sluggish. They use this data to determine if they are safe to sell. This is an 8 billion dollar industry.
You can't always judge what these agencies spend money on until you actually look into what it is solving. A lot of research may seem silly at first but actual has a profound impact on our economy.
So yes these guys may be smart in their field but they lack understanding of how our country functions and more importantly perhaps they simply should not be there.
