Rewatch 17 years ago, Hong Man Choi had Fedor scared

Thoughts:

1. How is Darrel Green the fastest man in the NFL if Hershel Walker is in the NFL? Walker never posted a faster time than him before?

2. I was hoping Danny Sullivan would pull an upset, like when that skinny track dude significantly out-lifted hulking Joe Frazier in that athletic competition NBC held.
I believe Green was generally considered the fastest player in the NFL at the time and he beat Walker in another competition. I guess it comes down to whoever is having a better day and gets off to a better start, etc. I know sprinting is very technical at the highest level, and both of them were pretty close to Olympic level sprinters at the time.

I didn't see the Frazier incident, but those old competitions were fun. IIRC, Evander Holyfield held his own with the NFL guys pretty well in the mid-1980s Superstars competition. I wish they still had such competitions now. It would be interesting to see MMA guys, boxers, international rugby players, etc. along with NFL/NBA etc. I imagine most athletes now don't want to risk an injury or an embarrassment. It might even violate contracts they sign.

Sapp actually wasnt in Pride for very long. He mostly fought in K-1 and Heroes

Ah thanks I always get those orgs and Pride and the Inoki bom ba ye or whatever it was called mixed up lol

Anderson was getting mopped by sub .500 redord Japanese guys in his prime.
I’d argue his 16 fight win streak at 185(3-0 at LHW) streak was his prime. But your logic make sense if you rode the small bus to school

Anderson was getting destroyed by Takase and Chonan in his prime.

HMC would probably murder Bumderoid.
I’d say his prime was probably his streak from Leben-Weidman 1 but I’m not a knuckle dragger and understand what prime means

Yeah, but Choi was also pretty heavily muscled. A super tall, jacked Asian dude is super rare. I realize he was in orgs like K-1 which didn't test for PEDs.

I wonder if Jake Paul woud've been willing to box a prime Choi? He was probably too slow and awkward to land much, but had a lot of force behind his blows. No one was able to KO him in his early fights either, not Sapp, Schilt or Bonjasky.
Nope Choi is around as tall as Shaq(considering MMA adds and inch or 2 in height).
Regardless even if he was as muscled as Shaq at 216-218cm He is still DWARFED by 229 cm Ming just like we see in the photo Choi is the size of Shaq

Anderson's prime was clearly a couple of years after that. But since we're playing that game, Fedor was demolished by a 40-year old MWs in his prime. No excuses--he was 6 years younger and 20 pounds heavier than Hendo. He just lost to the better fighter.

I believe there was even special rules like HMC couldn't knee or something too, don't think any other Fedor fight had rules like that

i think it's because of the size difference. they had that rule for Heath Herring vs Vitor too

Dickweed always be doin these "Fedor barely got out of there alive, he was terrified" threads

We'll straighten this prick out
