MayMac did 4.4 million PPV buys

1. That figure is not confirmed, but is in the range both Meltzer & SHO said it was looking for North America

2. It will be 6m worldwide. It broke records over-seas bc off Conor & blew past MayPac

Boxing doesnt count Over seas buys when they do HBO or Showtime ppvs, all of UFC PPVs inflate their PPV numbers Dana White includes foreign buys.

The final number will not include refunds, etc.

but AGAIN, even the article says the 4.4m is not a final number & the number yet to come out.

Weeks ago Sho & Meltzer both said the domestic numbers are mid 4m range.

This thread is not news or anything official.
the article & writer ADMIT it clearly

BoxingScene.com has learned that Mayweather-McGregor is expected to have generated approximately 4.4 million domestic pay-per-view buys and that an official announcement could be made as soon as this week.

We knew all of that 2 weeks ago lol
Was there a thread on here about it? I didn't see one.

Too many people talking like they follow boxing in here. Dana was making those sound like domestic buys and he was wrong. If we aren't talking domestic buys than people should stop saying May Pac did 4.6 buys.

LMFAO @ the retards who said above 5 million.

Once again sherdoggers eat it up.

Of course dana added overseas buys to the total to get 6m
I said that 5x lol

The UK numbers btw did not even come from DW, but directly from the distributor

Explain how he's the a side when his last ppv did like 300k? Lmao. Lemme know when a conor ppv does less than a million chump
USED AND ABUSED

THAT'S CONOR

4.4 million isn't anything to scoff at. MMA PPV's won't ever hit those numbers.

agreed.

what are people complaining about? the fight at worst was the second most successful fight in combat sports history.

the fight was a joke. a guy that was 49-0 vs a guy in his debut. how they sold it to so many people i have no idea, but it worked. good on them.

for a guy that's been a member for quite a while and having that many posts, that was a truly stupid statement...how did he screw over conor? Conor was making his pro debut, after 10 weeks of preparation and went 10 rounds. making 100 million. and utc probably made more than that...so floyd didn't screw anyone....if anything, it only elevated conor to an even bigger status...going to another sport and doing very well...now lets see floyd come over to mma and make it to the 3rd or 4th round with conor......hahaha
Mayweather didn't call out and challenge Conor to a mma fight.

By screwing over I think the guy meant you gave Mayweather his easiest payday over. He made at least 3x if not 4x the amount of money the UFC/McGregor to box an amateur boxer for his 50th win and he didn't have to promote.

That was a huge reason Mayweather said he accepted the fight. He didn't have to sell the fight by himself which he usually has to do. He put McGregor, the UFC platform and general word of mouth do it for him.

And the ski he wore during his walk out was to symbolize he was robbing all the McGregor fans of their money FYI. You think he just randomly wears out ski masks to a fight?

The 4.4 million buys are impressive, but it took boxing to get those numbers and Mayweather, no UFC fight anytime soon will ever do 2 million buys domestically stateside, unless a boxer crosses over like a Joshua or something to fight an MMA spectacle. Conor is going to probably stick to boxing since he is the top dog now in that sport thanks to Floyd.

Dana white inflates numbers he also buys his UFC fighters fake followers on twitter and instagram, Conor has like 74 percent fake twitter followers when you do the twitter audit, while a guy like Pacquiao who has only a few million twitter or instagram followers has 97 percent real followers and only a few fakes, he got called out several years ago by former Golden Boy CEo Richard Shaeffer, Dana White said Brock Lesnar did something like 1.9 million buys and Richard said BS, ill challenge you to show your numbers, he said HBO releases numbers publically and cant lie about ppv buys, but UFC was private owned and doesnt have to release real numbers.

Richard said Dana White doing the right thing in order to build his brand by pretending to be popular hoping the masses buy it and it works, just like Dana White has to show every single celeb in the audience, yet one of the celebs said it was Dana White who give sthem free tickets tot he fights and got them hooked, while in Boxing the Celebs pay for their own ticket and got there, and HBO doesn't have to show a celeb every single round like the UFC does with David Spade and Demi Lovatos.

Conors not as famous and Manny Pacquiao, a lot of these conor fan boys dont realize 10 years from now only Pacquiao will be remembered.

Pacquiao was doing 1.3 million buys in the USA, no foreign buys included, Conors 1.4 buys is loaded including Canadian and Euro and Aussie ppvs.

If Im willing to guess Id say he did like 500 to 600k ppv buys in the states only, without foreign buys included.

Not true
1. Canada is included in all N.A. buys
2. UFC has very few overseas markets that carry PPV. They have TV deals, etc.
3. The numbers Meltzer releases are N.A. only for UFC

The reason overseas is bigger for this fight is mainly due to Ireland/UK .
UFC is on TV, so this PPV was the first time they were included in a Conor fight

eh ill wait for an official word cause way more people werw talking about maymac than maypac
I completely disagree. I think interest in MayPac was much higher. As an MMA fan, it's probably easy to get the impression that MayMac generated more interest, but from my experience, it seemed that non-fight fans were much more interested in MayPac.
