@Seeahtik what's the deal with TBT?

@Seeahtik what's the deal with TBT?
And yet he never brings up Strom Thurmond filibustering the Civil Rights Act for over 24 hours lmao. Dude was rambling about his Grandma's biscuit recipe at one point.Meanwhile Joe Manchin invokes the name of Robert Byrd whenever the filibuster comes up so it's a wash.......
His comments about white liberals I know. We're a few days removed from Bloody Sunday when white ministers were tortured and murdered by other whites. Yeah I know. I've been called a N*gger lover a few times in my life lol.Tell ya what really chaps my ass is that they went and did this with Malcolm X, of all people lol
Well US history and politics tends to equate socialism with communism, which isn't true by any measure historically. Some people equate Animal Farm with being anti Socialist, which is absurd, it's anti Stalinist (State Socialism in its worst form) Hell @Prokofievian has seen me repeatedly explain to a simpleton here that I'm anti Stalin as a Libertarian Socialist and the dude just couldn't comprehend it (btw Anarchist Mutual Aid groups helped Texas more than the Capitalist groups did as they let children die recently)I've been meaning to read but just been reading Niel Gaiman book's. Yeah that book is my next book to read. Speaking of Orwell people need to really read his books and read his interviews too.

I'll never understand why y'all always hating on @Jack V Savage. Dude is ideologically my enemy but I've never seen a single post of his that would warrant the hate he gets.

LoL, believe me man when I see the right quoting him I just chuckle a bit. They don't read enough about him to see that he was more of socialist.Seeing how the world is right now, some of us need to sit down and really listen people like Chomsky. The left and right are full of idiot's.His comments about white liberals I know. We're a few days removed from Bloody Sunday when white ministers were tortured and murdered by other whites. What they did to MLK was worse imo. Especially after the Johnson discussions post Watts riot. MLK should be remembered as a pioneer of socialism as a way to racial equality, because that's what he believed. I know you're an actual historian and I'm an amateur student of history but it sickens me how US history skirts the reasons for the progression that benefits America as a whole.
That thread in this forum how MLK would disavow the BLM movement was one of the dumbest fucking things I've ever seen.

Orwell is an interesting study concerning his hypocritical views on censorship but the way he's referenced by right wingers is far beyond being disingenuous... It's squatting in self reliant ignorance at this point.
is it online? I just laugh when Bikes or some others quote him. That's coming from a right leaning poster as myselfRead his essays. That's where he really shines, IMO. I read a 1,400-page collection of them that changed my life. One of my heroes.
I repost them in the OT all the time
He really is a WR treasureVintage Amurikkkana. I linked it in one of these threads.
I wouldn't say enemies as far as enemies go, I'd say that we have intellectual differences. I'll admit that I'm far more reactionary and far more prone to certain revolutionary ideas and justify certain things... It's just odd that you catch more flack than I do. Granted I'm quite adorable.I don't think we're enemies in that we have a long way up the road before we'll have to go off in opposite directions. A country where we have significant fights about policy is a much better one than the one we're in in 2021. That's probably where one some of the divide comes in. A lot of the heat is kind of flattering. Glennrod called me the "final boss" of liberalism that he has to slay in the WR. I don't take the flattery any more seriously than the attacks, but that one was nice.

I don't think we even ready 1984 in HS.
We did read Animal Farm though
It. Infuriates. Me. To see right wing posters who quote Newsmax try to culturally appropriate one of the greatest socialist authors not from the US.is it online? I just laugh when Bikes or some others quote him. That's coming from a right leaning poster as myself

The Orwell shit, though, gets real traction. Mother fucking Josh Hawley referenced him. Glenn Beck has referenced him. It's an actual rhetorical tactic that has some gravity to it because a lot of rubes became superficially acquainted with Orwell through being asked to read 1984 in high school.
Thank you for this my friend. Also you are handsome Ginger.Yo since this shit is about to end. My stoner ass got some numbers last night because @Cubo de Sangre said I seem like someone who wears a beret.

Concerning the thoughts of right wing vs liberalism vs leftism they didn't wash the paint off the brush they seem to paint you with. I consider you a reasonable liberal, despite my inherent beliefs that liberalism is the true enemy of leftism. I also tend to agree with many of your objections to the left, as your beliefs on not voting for Biden lined up with Chomsky.
His essays were incredible, but again that was the era of essays/short fiction due to the limitations of print as a medium.
Really?? That's super interesting, what were you taught about Animal Farm?
