Would boxer Chris Algieri beat McGregor with ease....

If he has the confidence in himself that you do, he should start training and switch sports immediately. He's reached his ceiling and made the biggest paycheck in boxing he's gonna get. An elite boxer coming into mma and knocking out Conor would be huge.

It would be huge for MMA, but we're talking about a guy already making $500k per fight doing what he wants to do. How many guys in the UFC make $500k per fight? I know none of them can use their own sponsors either.

You can't tell a guy with a masters degree to take a pay-cut and sign his life away to Reebok just because he could make a splash in MMA.

So Conor winning by sub isn't plausible because he has no history of doing so, but a guy with no history of competing in MMA beating a elite MMA fighter is plausible?

Sure, it's plausible that Conor can win by sub. But the point is, that is NOT what Conor is good at. He would be forced to do something that he has never been able to prove proficient at. That is what makes the fight interesting.

He would make significantly more than 500k fighting Conor. Let alone if he became a ppv star in his own right, which he will never do in boxing. He couldnt even draw fighting Pac.

You realize he made next to nothing for most of his boxing career, right? If all it will take is "some submission training" for him to be one of the best mma fighters on the planet he should leap at the chance to make more money.

Algieri gets destroyed against MMA guy named Manny Reyes jr who has a subpar MMA record (Reyes actually has more MMA wins by sub than by KO) in a WCL (stand up only) fight yet they thinks that Algieri can beat with ease Conor in a MMA fight. Reyes is actually more known for being an internet troll than a MMA fighter yet he beat the shit out of Algieri in his own game.

When he was just getting started, sure. Once he was established he starting making good money. His last

$200k
$1.5 million
$500k

This is a serious question, how many UFC fighters have made that much in their last 3 fights? I really don't know.

It wasn't "getting established", its called fighting Pac and Khan. Those are likely the biggest paychecks of his career with two back-to-back losses and ppv flops.

Destroyed?
Fight got stopped over a nose bleed, a fight that Algieri was winning.
Let alone this was years ago

You're assuming that it's "NOT what Conor is good at", why?
Answer that question and then turn that logic on to Chris Algieri and you'll understand why he'll get destroyed.

The Khan fight was not PPV, and it did very well.

I guess your response to my question is, "No UFC fighter made that much money in his last 3 fights."

Because Conor has been submitted twice in his career by guys who were no-names. He has one submission victory in 20 fights. I think, logically, that proves that submissions are not what Conor excels at.

Reyes caught him with good strikes strong enough to give Algieri facial injuries that ended the fight. McGregor is way better striker than Reyes and Reyes isnt even a striking specialist and got his licks in and won the fight.

McGregor got submitted when he had very little experience in MMA and he lost to Duffy who is an underrated fighter with very good submission. You don't think Conor grappling has improved?

Chris works him over pretty good.
Chris would hit him with a 1-2 combo, Conor would shoot, get stuffed, panic, back to the cage, Chris throws a body kick, then hits 3 pop punches as Herb Dean pulls him off Conor.Conor.

lol Destroyed? He got a nose bleed, and they stopped it. That is like saying Fedor got destroyed by Kohsaka.

Should I post a video of McGregor getting Subbed within about 20 seconds of being taken down by Joe Duffy? I assume he's gotten better since then, right?

Standing? He would destroy McGregor, he would have to use his ground game here

Funny post, this is from 2008 before Algieri started his pro boxing career and he was winning that fight from what I could tell. His most recent fight he fought a competitive fight with Khan. Algieri would easily out strike Conor.

Discussion is he would beat him in MMA not striking. Stay on topic. I would think Algieri would land more strikes possibly but McGregor would land the power shots that would finish him. Im speaking only in MMA. If it was boxing of course Aligeri would win.

Also has Algieri ever fought in a octagon? How would he deal with being stuck across the cage.

Lucky punch.
But if u research further they had a rematch that was actually sanctioned and Algieri beat the shit out of him, just like he was before he got caught.

How do you beat the shit out of someone when you get KTFO? Yeah he got dropped but he got back to his feet and KTFO your boy.

Just because you were good at something in high school, doesn't mean you are good at it now. Conor would have the wrestling advantage, since he trains wrestling every day. I'd expect a ground and pound finish.
