Would Aspinall have been ranked in the heyday of the UFC HW division?

I'd have to see Tom in some more matchups before I could precisely place him in HW history, not sure about his ground defense and endurance. I do think he would be in the upper echelon, especially if we are only talking UFC fighters. He has elite skills and good speed and athleticism for a big guy.

Yes but he's lose to DC, Werdum, Fedor, Cain, JDS

Because the Arlovski fight that was nowhere near his toughest fight. At no point was Aspinall ever in any danger.

Volkov, Pavlovich and Blaydes were all much harder fights. Arlovski survived longer but posed no threat whatsoever.

Aspinall has wins over ranked opponents. Beating the ghost of Andrei Arlovski means very little.

Your post makes you look bad, and says nothing at all about Tom Aspinall.
so who was tom aspinals best win in his resume and the toughest fight in the ufc?

His UFC debut was a better win and more impressive than anything Aspinall has done so far LOL! I can't believe the revisionist history that guy tried to pull.

I'm not all aboard the "OMG Tom is superman he beats everyone!" narrative, but come on now, if you're gonna talk about revisionist history lets not pretend Werdum in 2008 was looked at in anywhere near the way he is now. He had a few good wins but was pretty much considered a good journeyman. He was 4-2 in Pride, 2-1 in the UFC and literally got cut after the JDS loss. I wouldnt say in the context of its time it was any better than Toms wins over Pav, Blaydes or Volkov.

I also remember even a year after that a Youtube comment where someone said something along the lines of "Cro Cop needs to retire, hes even losing to Junior Dos Santos now", so even at that point there were people that werent fully sold on him. I'd say the Carwin fight was the one where he fully got on the map as being an absolute beast.

Sort of. We can tell just based on his physical attributes we've seen (in his short fights) that he'd be ranked. Probably highly ranked. He moves better than any HW of that Era, even guys naturally smaller than he is. And his power and accuracy are pretty obvious. Those early KO's aren't happening by mistake.

HW is obviously weaker and of course that factors in. So for sure it's accurate to say we don't know how he'd fare vs the elite guys of back then like prime Cain or JDS.

Does he move better than JDS? JDS finished Mark Hunt with a spinning axe kick. Not sure Aspinall has the agility to pull something like that off.

I don't think there's enough tape of Aspinall to really tell TBH.

Tom's been dropped by Volkov and Blaydes.

Having a granite chin is make belief nonsense.
no knockdown listed at all on the Aspinall/Volkov fight stats, and having watched the fight I don't remember one.
Went back and checked, the absolute worst that happened is he threw a kick and slipped in his UFC career. Meanwhile, he took a full shot from Pavlovich and wasn't phased. No one else currently in the UFC would have survived that shot.

Moves better is debatable, but he's certainly much, much faster. That would definitely play a part.
That we're comparing him to JDS, who I rate as an all time top 5 heavyweight speaks volumes though.

Faster? Maybe.

MUCH faster? That's a stretch.

Probably Volkov, maybe Pavlovich.

Definitely not the ghost of Andrei Arlovski.
you believe volkov is his best win or pav?
they why did tom beat them in round 1?

how many title wins did volkov or pav has?
do you believe volks and pav mma career
are more impressive than arloski?

Hunt is like 5'9 though to be fair...

I definitely think Tom is the better pure athlete (not that JDS wasnt a very good athlete too by HW MMA standards) but he is also much more reckless and sloppy than JDS was.

Probably the 260lb 18-1 31 year old with literal Tyson Fury reach who was on a 6 fight win streak all via first round finishes?
whats this guys record?
how many title wins does he have?
you think he accomplished more than arlovski?

did he do more than arlovski?

Context matters. Arlovski hasn't been a serious contender or an impressive win for many, many years.

Beating a contender is more impressive than beating a fossil.

Do you like...not understand the concept of time or something?

Should Tom call out Marco Ruas next?
where talking about his best win
obviously his best win was the fighter who had the most accomplishment
and also gave him more problems

and it is andrei arlovski
