Pancrase has announced a four-woman Atomweight tournament beginning on December 24th.
https://x.com/_pancrase_/status/1701422264498213314?s=61&t=6gBtBu6UE_g3Nm1SJFXalw
Participating are Satomi Takano 17-14
Zenny Huang 7-5
Sayako Fujita 7-2
Pancrase said offers have been sent to various overseas fighters for the fourth slot

Takano and Fujita train together, and prefer not to fight each other unless they have to. Huang already beat Fujita. My guess is Huang and Tako will fight, while a can is brought over from Korea for Fujita the can crusher

This will be Katherinne's pro MMA debut.

There were 3 WMMA fights at CAM 22 in Argentina on Saturday. Karen Ruiz vs. Daniel Carrizo, Camila Curutchet vs. Marina Saleme and Sofia Montenegro vs. Sofia Landi which was the main event.

Curutchet and Montenegro looked pretty good. Curutchet got a first round doctor stoppage TKO as she landed some shots and Marina's eye swelled up and Montenegro got a deep heel hook on Landi who opened a bit cut on Montenegro's forehead.

as always, thanks purp for the weekly fight list!
ufc lineup looks pretty solid this week, gonna be a hard one to hate on :D
You're welcome werepig. I enjoy keeping track of times for weekend viewing. Glad it's appreciated.

Yeah great ufc card Saturday. Grasso vs. Shevchenko 2 highly anticipated. Along with three other good fights. Interested in seeing Tracy Cortez who has been out for a while. The match making for all four fights is outstanding!

Thank you DUNKS! Enjoy getting these updates on results of worldwide mma!

I'm still taking Valentina for this Saturday, but I'm a little concerned about the aftermath. In every clip of her I've seen from media day, she's looked like she's trying really hard to put on an act.

She's always been arrogant, but it just doesn't seem genuine to me this time. More than arrogance, I perceive resentment from her. I'm afraid that she might call it quits regardless of the result, she looks fed up with everything.

Do I think Alexa got lucky? Not at all, she drilled that shit in training and took the opportunity when it was presented to her.

Do I think Valentina is the better fighter of the two? 100%.

But MMA works in mysterious ways, Valentina may have met the Rose to her Joanna (or however that saying is supposed to go).

Rooting for Grasso - Val's gonna be likely on her way out sooner or later, so with my resentment of these rematches combined with the fact Grasso is just so awesome, it's an easy pick. Will gladly take Val too, if the dice fall on her - should be an intriguing matchup once again no matter what.

And: Loopy, Cortez, Knutsson.

Leaning towards Grasso. Valentina doesn't have her sister to train with anymore which I think is why her timing & reads have been getting worse. Antonina's role in training is to emulate the opponent so that Val can get good looks and dial in all the counters for whoever she's fighting (they said that in an interview). Combined with her physical decline in her last couple fights and she's going to need a near perfect fight to win, and that's not something I'm going to bet on in MMA.

Normally I'd go with Cortez, but she's coming off a long layoff and far too many fighters have looked like trash or had no gas tank after that. Probably a coin flip, but Jasmine's been looking better recently so who knows?

Not too sure on the Loopy fight either. She has most of the advantages on paper but she's fought stupid before (boxing with Angela Hill) and Reed has gone up to journeyman from can in her last few fights.

Don't know a single thing about Knutsson's opponent, but Josefine better put on a better show than she did against Isis. That was a pretty lacklustre performance from someone who's touted as a mega-prospect and the future of her division. I was expecting a Joanna vs. Rosi Sexton level blowout since Isis wasn't a good kickboxer and her MMA is even worse, but that's not what happened.

Good comeback fight for Aldana. She needs to show something in this fight. Completely choking against Nunes was not a good look at all. Would have been better to go out guns blazing

Another WMMA fight added to Combate's card on Saturday. Tapology and Combate have Estefania Rodríguez listed as 4-0, but she's not 4-0, she's 3-0 as a pro. The first fight they listed for her is an amateur fight and she had another fight before that that's not recorded anywhere and should be another amateur fight.
