Will you consider Islam the LW goat if he wins (4th title defense)

Both weak as shit, but Islams is better if he will win. <{ohyeah}>

The fact that no one has defended the 155 title more than 3 times is a testament to how competitive the division has been. However, this would have to be somewhat suspect given that two of his defenses would be short notice fights. But at least this time it's not against someone coming off the couch. Also two were against a 145er. So it will be 4*
Literally ever single LW champion besides Eddie has successfully defended 1x. You can't remotely say that about other divisions where plenty of champions failed their first defences.

"LW being the most competitive division" is a myth Khabib fans invented because their guy didn't have the resume to back up their GOAT claims so they needed to make his poor resume look better.

Sure until we get another "LW GOAT" in 3 years, this GOAT BS just goes on in circle.
You can have a new LW GOAT in 3 years because of how low the bar is.

There's a reason we can't have a new FLW, WW, MW, or LHW GOAT in only 3 years by contrast.

Would be crazy if Moicano pulls off the upest.

Maybe, but I wouldn't consider him the best lw ever

Still Khabib for me, but Islam is getting close.

Khabib dominated in a way I have never seen a fighter do in any weight class.

Never cut, never bruised or swollen, never dropped that I recall, never in any danger, just steamrolled everyone like they didn't belong in the cage with him.

Dustin was 6 (I think?) and Moicano is currently #10

Moicano is #10. But Dustin #6?? He's #4 now after he lost to Islam. At the time of the fight Dustin was #4 ranked. And he's got the win over #1 Olivera as well.

He doesn't have a lot of top wins at LW. It's really Olivera and Dustin. Volk is a great fighter, but he had 0 history at LW.

Goat is tricky for him, I was skeptical when it was Arman who is ranked #1 whether to put him over Khabib, but now with Moicano even if he breaks the LW defense record, I still got Khabib.

He didn't steam roll Tibau, went 0-13 on takedowns and ended up getting take down himself in rounds 2 and 3!

So he was #6, then beat #12 BSD,, then conveniently got boosted to #4 for his gift title shot.

No, his career as a whole is less impressive than some lightweights that never held the title imo.
While he does have a few really good wins on his record, beating Poirier and Oliveira doesn't transpose their career onto yours.
Chris Wade
Nik Lentz
Gleison Tibau
Kajan Johnson
Arman Tsarukyan
Davi Ramos
Drew Dober
Thiago Moises
Dan Hooker
Bobby Green
Oliveira
Volkanovski 2x
Poirier.

If I don't nitpick too much I could look at Donald Cerrone and say Oliveira, KJ Noons, Edson Barboza, Eddie Alvarez, Benson Henderson is better list.

Dustin was never #6. When he fought JG he was #2 behind Charles and then bumped down to #3 and when Arman beat Charles, Dustin bumped down to #4. He was never lower than #4 at any point.

Just bad luck for Islam the way his matches played out in terms of securing the LW GOAT legacy. He’ll have the number if he beats Moicano, but man Volk II and Moicano on short notice don’t look as good as Olives II and Arman on a resume imo.
