Social Will the government shutdown tomorrow?

@N13 tips his hand when he says stuff like that. He's lost in the right-wing media sauce.
@sickc0d3r @Crazy Source

Medicare for all is hardly a right wing position. Is Bernie Sanders a Republican now?

Medicare is public insurance run by the government.
Obamacare is private insurance run by corporations.

Why do lefties want to fund corporations?

How much does Obamacare cost per month on average? So I looked it up:
  • The average Obamacare plan costs $483 monthly for a 30-year-old, $544 for a 40-year-old and $760 for a 50-year-old.
I pay $235 A month for Medicare and $15 A month for my supplemental plan. That's about $500 less a month, $6,000 A year. And let me tell you, medicare rocks mangs.

I would like to know why and how those corps manage to deny this coverage to everyone?
And now these businesses are threatening to double the rates if they don't get their monopoly money???

What do you think my position is? I am all for "Medicare for all". I am on record in this thread being in favor of a single-payer system. Sadly we don't have that system available so I am in favor of extending the ACA subsidies and not doubling people's premiums.

Conservative America’s greed knows no bounds. Not having universal accessible public health care for all is one of the biggest jokes of this century. The world is shaking it’s collective head at you. I don’t understand how any low income or middle class Republican can support this. Billionaires and millionaires yes. But the rest of you?

I don't know why you're asking me this, but I'll take medicare for all, we can agree on that. The ACA was a republican idea that Obama appropriated and implemented, and the point is it keeps people from being denied coverage and going broke because of shit like pre-existing conditions. I'm old enough to remember what people were dealing with prior to the ACA.

My contention with your other post was that you said the dems are trying to "wreck the economy and blame republicans". As if, a) the economy is great right now in order to be "wrecked", and b) Trump getting a boner over the chance to fire a bunch of people while congress takes another fucking vacation is the dems fault. It's a ludicrous claim, imo. This shit's a mess, there's plenty of blame to go around, and Trump is an asshole who sucks at his job.

Insurance is the biggest scam of the last 100 years. Pay out of pocket for a couple of years and you will understand.

Free luigi ?!

Lol jk

But still, fook the insurance scams. No surprise PBD and his valutainment empire started with insurance. Sleazy slimeball industry

I said the part about the economy because I don't know what the democrats have as a goal in the shutdown.

And they just voted to keep it closed again. Ay yi yi.

The Obamacare subsidies do not expire until the end of the year. There's plenty of time to negotiate that.

Is this true?

Surely not?

Top Oversight Dem calls for investigation over White House shutdown messaging

Rep. Robert Garcia said the White House appears to be in violation of the Hatch Act.

GREGORY SVIRNOVSKIY
Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.), the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, is urging acting Special Counsel Jamieson Greer to investigate the White House for its messaging on the government shutdown, which he argues is in violation of federal law.

In a letter to Greer on Thursday, Garcia wrote that the messaging appears to contravene the Hatch Act, which bars federal employees from engaging in political activity.

“Violations of the law must be held accountable,” he wrote.

Senate Democrats continue to hold out for an extension on Affordable Care Act insurance subsidies, with the government shutdown in its second day. But President Donald Trump and White House allies are heaping pressure on the party’s moderate wing to join Republicans’ continuing resolution, threatening mass layoffs and pulling funding from Democratic-leaning states and cities.

Garcia has taken issue with a key element of White House messaging: Banners atop public websites for several agencies — including the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Department of Agriculture — that blame Democrats for the shutdown.

“The Radical Left in Congress shut down the government,” reads a message posted to HUD’s website. “HUD will use available resources to help Americans in need.”

Garcia wrote that the alleged violations “fit a pattern of abuse and politicization of Executive Branch agencies, which we will investigate fully.”

On Wednesday, the nonprofit Public Citizen filed complaints against HUD and the Small Business Administration for the messaging.

“The Administration’s statements make it abundantly clear that these messages are intended to circumvent the law, further highlighting the need for an immediate investigation,” Garcia wrote. “Federal agencies work for the American people, not a political party.”

Some ethics experts that spoke to POLITICO on Wednesday said the messaging may not violate the Hatch Act — but could violate a separate law called the Anti-Lobbying Act.

“It’s an objective fact that Democrats are responsible for the government shutdown, the Trump Administration is simply sharing the truth with the American people,” White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson told POLITICO in a statement.

So the whitehouse statement is correct and politicos experts confirm that it likely doesn’t violate the hatch act. So the democrat is full of shit. Got it, but why do they leave that until the bottom of the article where most people won’t read?

Good.
Shut this shitshow down.
After a year. Americans will realize how worthless the government is.

- The same reason animes fights take ten episodes. So people watch

lol, I am slowly watching a Baki series right now on Netflix, and the fights are horribly long.

I watched the original series a decade or two ago and don’t remember it being this drawn out and boring

Rolling back cuts to Medicaid and extending ACA subsidies are the main things they talk about. But, it’s also about checking the executive power of “pocket rescission” granted by scotus. If the executive branch can change budgets on their own regardless of what congress does, what’s the point? Republicans aren’t interested in negotiating, and democrats aren’t backing down (although, in the end they’ll cave like bitches I reckon).
Wrecking the economy isn’t a goal, the economy already sucks by most metrics. And anyway you can’t pin that on the dems when we have job losses reported every month and now Trump is celebrating the shutdown because he gets to fire some more people. A president celebrating American citizens losing jobs because he thinks it will hurt his political enemies is pretty fucking disgusting, dude.
