He lost me in the mid to late 00s. I'll always like him for independence day and fresh prince tho.

He's definitely gone from a good actor still developing his range to a guy that just plays himself in everything.

Truly underrated performances by both cruise and jamie foxx in that movie. That was a great movie and they really worked well together.


That movie gave me a whole new level of respect for both guys.
 
Will Smith is an actor I can't even imagine trying to act. I can't picture him in a Clint Eastwood or Woody Allen movie.

But then I would have said the same thing about Owen Wilson, so there you go.
 
Will Smith is a mediocre actor. The viewer is constantly aware it is Will Smith in every movie. He simply lacks the talent it takes to become the role he takes on. Though, it's not like he takes on any challenging roles.

Neither are anything special as actors but both have had the occasional good performance throughout their careers.

Both are douchebags.
