although it's often seen as a glib adaptation of the guare play, i thought will smith showed off his acting chops in six degrees of separation -- one of his early films -- all the while putting his future in the business at stake. and even though it was rumored that will had refused to kiss a man on film [at least that is what i remember hearing], i think he showed that had he decided to go another route in his career, will could've made it to tier-one and sat alongside some of the greats [we are talking about public perceptions of his is, or isn't, great].
