He almost won the Whittaker fight too. Darrens alot better than people give him credit for. If his knees were good I think he could have challenged for middleweight belt.

Hard to predict IMO. Khamzat would need a finish in round 1 or 2 though. I lean towards DDP winning by TKO since he's far more proven at MW.

I think the take away here should be that the fight promises to be a bloodbath because both dudes believe they can come forward and do their thing...

Styles? I don't think this is a combination that will cancel each other out... It will be savagery until a finish happens.

I also think Middleweight is the place we learn how Khamzat fights off his back... I do not think he will have a career where we never see it.. (like Khabib)... Maybe he is that great... Let's stack up the big boys and find out.

This is the only correct take. It'll be a war. Both guys are rightfully full of confidence. Reminds me of Gastelum and Izzy heading out to their fight, neither really doubted themselves. I think this is the real #1 MW fight, as good as Strickland has been performing lately, DDP and Khamzat are both probably #1 or 2

If Usman, who was an alternate for the Olympics, struggled on the ground with Chimaev and had to go 100% defense, I don't see someone who was not a wrestling or BJJ specialist going through R1 with Chimaev
On top, Chimaev's weakness is distance management and Du Plessis seems more of a blitz fighter than a distance management expert like Adesanya

Well, i think we all agree that DDP has earned his shot by Tkoing Rob, but tbh, Khamzat vs DDP at least makes more Sense than Khamzat vs Strickland.
Both have strong wrestling and strong early, probably the most intense Rd1 possible in the current MW division.

Also i'il have no complaints with either one(Winning) getting the shot after this figth.

Dricus, especially in a 5 rounder. He's way bigger than Khamzat and his grappling is good enough to survive that 1st round onslaught. On the feet it's Dricus all day.
