Who do you think is the so-called "baddest man on earth" ever?

To get more in depth: what does the opening poster mean by "baddest man on earth ever"? Is he referring to just unarmed combat in a ring/cage with modern mma ruleset? Is he referring to vale tudo; or, unarmed combat on concrete with no rules like King Of The Streets? Is he referring to just random, one on one fights in an open field with no weopons, not even rocks to pick up? Is he referring to one on one fights with machetes and chairs like they do it in the Dominican Republic? Is he referring to duels with rapiers or sabres, or duels in various forms of armor? Is he referring to warriors dueling with some variant of spears, short swords and shields? Or, is he not even referring to one on one fights at all but war lords and war chieftans and their tactical abilities in war/inter-tribal conflicts? Among other possibilities.

But, in any scenario, the answer is still most likely some ancient warrior.

In all seriousness, his confidence was SUPREME that night. I don't know how it could be so high unless everyone at his gym was filling his head with delusional bullshit, but he truly thought he was going to steamroll Mickey Gall.

Locked in an empty room. Fight to the death. No rules to adhere to. Who walks out?

It's Jones if you're really weighting the odds..

Of course big punchers stand a bit of a chance. They could score a knockout blow and then easily finish off the unconscious man.

A giant freak wrestler like Karelin would stand a bit of a chance. Drop him on his head and break his neck or something.

But probably not.

Jones is also not playing by the unified rules in this scenario. He's gouging eyes to his heart's content. He's kicking people in the nuts. Whatever it takes to survive.

Lol @ the guy who keeps spamming "some ancient warrior". Probably thinks Hercules or Achilles were real or some shit 🤣 .

Ok. A one on one, no rules fight in an Empty room. How about a squash court?

32 feet long by 21 feet wide. A good enough size to allow some movement, but not so big to literally run around like, say a basketball court or something. The surfaces often also have sand underneath the wood to make it more forgiving; still not as forgiving as, say a ring, but more so than a basketball court for example.

No weapons. How about clothing? let's just assume they are fighting naked like in ancient times. No rounds, no rules.

So...the "baddest man on earth ever" in this scenario? Again, it is probably some ancient warrior or prehistoric human/near human.

Baddest man in the history of planet earth is a serious title. It most definitely isnt constrained to a pampered sport fighter of the 21st century in the avenue of show business entertainment, who rarely sees the outside of a gym, with no knowledge or training aside from the unified rules of mma. There are so many other ways to be a badass than just fighting in a cage.

fedor, most likely. good luck beating that dude in his prime. 2004 arlovski was terrifying as well.

I can see prehistoric human/near human. That's not really the same.

But humans as they have existed in their current form is Jones. It's a combination of size and being one of the elite at the most advanced form of all-around unarmed combat to date. How's some ancient warrior going to know how to defend against an elite at something that didn't even exist in his time?

Definitely Fedor, Anderson, Jones, & GSP in that category. Guys who are dangerous no matter where the fight goes & can finish you in any area of MMA.

GSP and Anderson are too small to be the baddest men on the planet.

Indeed to the first paragraph.

For starters, size wouldn't be the problem. There were plenty of ancient men with substantial enough size - depending on region and particular time period. as for against Jones in particular? you act like grappling hasn't existed for millennia. It has. As has various forms of striking.

but even then, this forum overrates just how important "unarmed combat" is, when in reality men have been fighting and waging war with each other for thousands of years with various forms of rocks, sticks, clubs, spears, blades, etc. and tooth and nail even before then. It is incredibly disrespectful of ancient humanity to dismiss thousands of years like this forum is currently doing, and incredibly arrogant.
