Which were Top 5 most technical fights in MMA history?

Fedor more or less wrote the blueprint on how to beat Crocop -- very good fight.
Very impressive considering Cro Cop already had 2 losses and 2 draws by then, 1 of which would've been another loss had Pride special rules not been in place mandating it instead be a draw.

Let alone his other existing 7 kickboxing losses.

Is there anything Fedor can't do?

Highest of the highest in technical striking Joe

Kind of random but pretty technical & very awesome

(time stamped at fight start)

(With no repeats allowed)

Islam vs Volk
Aldo vs Yan
DJ vs Cejudo 2
GSP vs Koscheck 2
Jones vs DC

Let me give WMMA some love. The Weili vs Joanna and the Valentina vs Joanna fight were very technical. I will admit the Weili fight was more like a technical brawl. Weili is fun to watch.
Valentina vs Grasso II was most technical than Valentina vs Joanna IMO because had pretty ground game too

Rose vs Zhang II was great too

During that time nobody knew how to really strike outside of people who came from a striking background. Just to see a grappler throw a simple high kick or low kick was considered very high level.

It's different nowadays. Derrick Lewis is panned as a bum but he throws jumping switch kicks, flying knees and front leg high kick. We expect a lot more from fighters now.
I don't think thats a high standard of striking "for the time" I think its a high standard of striking for MMA full stop, nothing at HW in recent years is anywhere close IMHO.

I mean the very idea of two guys with extreme power exchanging for 20 mins and nobody being KOed is almost hard to imagine in todays HW division, thats how much lower the level of defence is.

Cody vs dillashaw
Dj vs cejudo 2
Islam vs Volk
Max vs Volk 2
Arman vs gamrot

Poirier vs Zombie was incredible. Good striking, high level, active grappling from both guys, and a great finish.

While not entirely right it is also not entirely wrong.
It was mostly about how he did it!
Like a machine.
