Which of these 3 shows has the better theme song?

Some good contenders itt but Buck Rogers had the GOAT classic TV theme song.

Five-O. Most of the Canell shows. Surprised I can't find a compilation.

Cheers. The full song is actually pretty funny. Some of the actual lyrics:

"Roll out of bed, Mr. Coffee's dead
The morning's looking bright
And your shrink ran off to Europe and didn't even write
And your husband wants to be a girl
Be glad, there's one place in the world

Where everybody knows your name
And they're always glad you came
You want to go where people know, people are all the same
You want to go where everybody knows your name"

1. Cheers. I also mike the HISHE parody for the Villain Pub.

2. Mash even though the song is called "Suicide is Painless"

3. Cop show with palms

It's like Tom Waits secretly ghost-wrote the lyrics one night, and they just went with it in the morning.

Well MASH I like the least of the three themes. Hawaii 5-0 and Cheers' themes are both great for different reasons.

Suicide is Painless...

I have this sentiment as well. For me, the music was depressing. Not sure if it was the time it came on, after a good show? When it came on? The clicking clock on 60 minutes has the same effect on me now. Back in the day as a kid, it signaled Sunday evening and time to get ready for Monday school.

Yup, exactly. It would come on air around 1-2 on Fox 11 here in LA. You began your day watching Saved by the Bell, and a bunch of other shows for 3-4. Then MASH would come on, it was like okay, it is time to go outside and play.

All three were great because decades later you immediately think of the show when you hear the song, and can hum or sing the theme when someone mentions the show.
I could dance around pretending to surf to H5-O, but the Cheers theme is a legit hit on it's own.
