Three classics here! Any other classic tv show themes that can contend with these heavyweights?

Cheers

MASH

Hawaii 5-0

The soothing late 70s early 80s themes sound so much more grown up than what we have now. Kind of hard to explain, but they capture the soul of the era. Taxi etc...

The sitcom intros 1965-1995 are mostly fantastic.

Of those three Cheers easily takes it.

I've always thought MASH had one of the worst theme songs I've ever heard.

As for the Hawaii 5-0 intro, it sounds extremely generic for a 70s theme.

Yup, Cheers wins it. The lyrics of the song make me wish I drank on a daily basis and went to a bar that everybody knows my name and is always glad I came.

Hawaii 5-0 had the best song and intro but never liked the show.

Cheers for the good theme song and good show combination.

Fun fact: M.A.S.H. was filmed in the same park and close to where Ape City in Planet of the Apes was filmed. There is still some stuff that was left behind from the show at the site it was filmed.

MASH

I am aware of the circumstances in which it was written, but i didnt know that until like 20 yrs after i first heard it. It had a sombre tone that I love. Cheers is a great theme too.

MASH’s is depressing, and Cheers is ok. Hawaii has that groove, even if a bit generic

Easily Cheers of those three.
