Where the hell did all these Leon Edwards fans come from?

I know y’all weren’t here Saturday morning. Now this place seems infested with them.

There is even a white belt named @Leon Edwards that somehow can make threads. It’s madness

This your opportunity to prove you aren’t a bandwagoner. Tell me when you became a fan. What won you over? Where have you been hiding? Why wait so long to show your face?

I never cared about Leon until last night, he finally did something... Now i'm a fan.

Just because we're happy usman lost doesn't mean we're Leon fans now. I will say the shit was clutch AF and it's hard for me not to respect a guy that's still trying to win, down on the cards late in the 5th.

That shit is amazing.

Dreyga chill. You are getting emotional about this.
Yeah. Unless you're a gambler, what skin do you (not YOU, you) have in the game? If you aren't part of the fight or on a sports team, who fucking cares? It's only entertainment. A "side" or opinion on something you can't control is a waste of energy and hope.696272AA-101D-41B0-B166-965765F48549.jpeg

Fan since he choked out Albert Tumenov.

There's probably more fans than you'd think for Leon, and a bunch of other fighters as well. They just don't post about it because it gets tiring to see reply after reply of lamebrain shit like:

"Leon Scott who haha?"
"But he lost to Nate Diaz."
"He sucks and is a journeyman. Doesn't deserve a title shot. Khamzat NOW."

I still could care less about Leon Cowardly Heart Edwards. He sucks.

Only blackman I care about winning the Welterweight crown is Platinum, and he defeated MVP, so I'm happy.

Lol, became a fan in R1 of the title fight when he won the grappling exchange. Never really paid attention to him until now TBH but I tend to go with the underdog unless a favorite fighter is in the ring.

He's humble, has a great story (coming from less privileged background and him not opting to climb the mountain while based in Birmingham to prove it can be done), and that kick was just amazing. That kick is the reason you we are sports fans.

They are GSP fans in disguise.

This happens sometimes when a rival fanboy group is happy about the outcome of a fight. They pretend to be fans of the guy who knocked him out. In this case Leon Edwards.
Nah, personally I just don't care for Usman. If I had to guess, most people are in the same boat as me.

What was amazing? You didn't watch the co-main event did you?

Who isn't a GSP fan? Hard guy not to like. They'd crash the server if they came here!

Keep hearing about how good Usman's striking has gotten. Other than the Masvidal KO punch, pretty weak striking. Wasn't exactly dropping Edwards, was he? No damage visible.

Well because he did something spectacular in spectacular fashion fam. There's no mystery.

When likeable people do great things, they gain fans. Yeah he was winning before but nothing spectacular. He was just solid and doing his thing. Never got the 'boring' angle with his fighting though... he's a very good striker who throws a lot and is sharp asf, nothing boring about him.

I absolutely love how no one is denying their fair weatherness. Honestly, I think Leon earned the respect of most fans last night based on his striking technique alone.

Wasn’t a fan before and not a fan now

he hilariously KO’d Marty from Nebraska

That was an epic knockout.

But I am very much not a Leon Edwards fan.
Don't misconstrue any compliment or whatever for fanboyism.

But credit where it is due, it was absolutely brilliant to set up that KO with 7 years of being boring as shit.

I wouldn't say I'm a fan of his but I was rooting for him to take out Usman and strangely had a good feeling about it. Of course I didn't imagine he'd win it this way. I basically thought he could win three rounds not unlike how he did in R1 and squeak a decision on Usman.

He KO'd Usman, that's more than enough to make me a fan.

People are allowed to become fans of a fighter after he knocks out the champion with a spectacular head kick lol.

Personally, him being champion doesn't excite me more than Usman being champion, but it's not surprising that he gained a lot of fans after that KO.

When you pull of a comeback, underdog, walk off head kick KO in a title fight against one of the P4P best in the final minute, you tend to get some fans.

TS is being a salty hater.

"This your opportunity to prove you aren’t a bandwagoner'. Haha, what an opportunity. As if anyone would need to justify shit.

I became a fan when that head kick landed haha.

Nah, I don't really like Edwards, just like that Usman lost. I'd say a lot of people are in the same boat, especially since I know people were shitting on Leon after he got rocked by Nate.
