I honestly hope not, as I think that's a bit too soon. We don't want EITHER fighter fighter say "actually I picked up a bit of an injury in the 1st fight, I wasn't gonna mention it but......"

If I was UFC I'd wait til Jan or Feb but......they obviously have to talk to both fighters about what THEIR preferred timing is and all that. I just doubt both of them will say "yes" to anything more in 2025

I used to think Tom could win a striking match vs Gane but now i think he will win but that he needs a hybrid approach. Wrestle-box but still conserve some energy in case it goes past 3 rounds.

The smart play for Tom would be to use this to reasses a better gameplan.

He needs to work on attacks and footwork that cut off the left side escape.

Gane wants to fight a merry go round fight where he is perpetually skipping laps around the outside moving away from Tom's right hand attacks.

I'd expect March or so... which fans will bitch about, but 6 months for turnaround time on a HW undisputed title fight which the company now has to place on a card and promote is about as quick a turnaround as realistically may happen.

2025 is booked.

why would you not want it sooner? If they are cleared medically there should be no reason to delay this fight longer than a month. We dont need to do another training camp to give someone a chance to get injured.

This fight should be kept as close to the original fight as possible. Both fighters should be forced to do medicals and physicals if they pass, The fight gets made ASAP. Tom declines? He is stripped. Cyril Declines, He is replaced.

People saying this fight should go on next year are just desperate to see Tom cling on to his trinket a bit longer.
